August 14th, 2009: To the gills

Hi guys!  While sitting on the couch watching really bad episodes of House Hunters (oh man the couple that wanted a “green” home but not really? Annoying.) wine and cookies were involved!

Red wine

Cookies and wine

I had a glass of red followed by a small smidge more of red. Not even a glass.  And then a small pour of white with some Mexican wedding cookies from Whole Foods.  I crashed out in bed by 11:30 however I had too much wine!  Instead of falling into a deep slumber, I slept but had wild active and fitful dreams.  Which just left me feeling like I didn’t sleep all that well.  Plus I was hot.  Too much wine makes me hot when I sleep.

Thankfully Rocky decided mom could rest and I “slept”-in till almost 8am.  Hooray for rest days!  I took care of Rocky, opened some windows and poured some coffee.

Coffee

Into the office I went to get started on the day and see what was going on in the world.  I had some work that needed to get done, so I did that and then got up to make breakfast.

Granola, nectarine, yogurt

Whenever I feel like I’ve had too much wine or not the best day of eats, the first thing I want in the mornings is fresh raw fruit.  I had no idea why, I just know that is what my body is jonesing for.  Today I tweeted about wanting a juicer again.  Because I would have had juice over coffee this morning first thing.

Since I don’t have a juicer, I did the next best thing for breakfast, raw fruit.

I had a nectarine with 2% fage, fruit and nut granola, and a little drizzle of maple syrup.  YUM!!  My body soaked up that nectarine like it was the last one on earth.

Fortified with nectarine power, I went through and cleaned the house.  I just have to vacuum and house clean status will reach complete.

Scott had yet another conference call today, that makes every day this week.  Crazy!  While he was making the money, I got busy making some lunch.  Bring on the fresh!

I’m not officially doing Leng’s Salad Challenge but it does inspire me to try different things every so often.  Today was one of those days with the shredded coconut added to the salad.  I have never done that before and today I thought, “Why not?”  And you know, it was damn tasty.  Even Scott liked it and I thought for sure he was going to comment on it but he said he liked it.  Hooray for new things!  Lunch majorly filled me up!  Afterwards I was rolling around the house instead of walking.  Ooomph!

While we were eating lunch the topic of juicers came up again.  He saw my tweet because he follows me. ;)  And I was talking about last night and having too much wine.

S: Do you want a juicer?

A: I think maybe.

S: Well then we’ll get a juicer.  How much are they?

A: *blink blink*

S: What? Like $200?

A: Well not quite that much but over $100.

S: Oh. Doesn’t anyone make a cheaper one?

A: Having second thoughts?

So it’s been discussed but no definite decision.  I think maybe I should purchase a new blender first before a juicer?  We’ll see I guess.

Now I must finally shower for the day so we can get out and run some errands!
