July 23rd, 2009: Busy, busy, busy

Hi gang! Last night Scott and I had the best time! We were invited to a small gathering at Tehku Tea to taste some tea blends and munchies! However that is going to get it’s own dedicated post so that I can tell you all about it. :D  I will show you my eats before and after though!

Before we headed out, I made us some smoothies and a snack.

Smoothie and smoked salmon

Smoked salmon on pumpernickel with sundried tomato and basil goat cheese.  I toasted it up to give it a little bit of a different texture.

Smoothie time!  Let me see if I can remember what all went in here! :p

  • Unsweetened cranberry juice
  • OJ
  • POM
  • Water ( I don’t remember the exact amounts!)
  • Spinach
  • Shredded carrot, zucchini, and parsnip
  • Cucumber
  • Frozen pineapple
  • Mango and some frozen mango
  • Frozen blueberries

YUM!

I had 2 halves of salmon “toast” which is equal to one whole slice.  And some extra smoothie for kicks!  Parsnip is my new favorite smoothie addition.  It’s light and tastes like lemon to me so it makes everything just a little bit brighter and fresh tasting.  Then we were off for the night! Scott and I looked rad and naturally I didn’t get a chance to get a picture of us.  Boo on me!

When we left the party, we made a quick stop at Microcenter and then it was home!  I was still a bit munchie and needed more veggies, so I made sweet potato fries!

Sweet potato fries and a beer

With shredded pepperjack and cheddar on top. YUM! And Scott had a brown ale that I had a few sips of.  The SP fries had a bit of olive oil, buffalo sauce, garlic powder, and seasoned salt. Baked at 400 for about 10 minutes or so.  I shared that plate with Scott! Even though I could have, I did not eat that whole thing. :D Then I zonked out!

I got such a late start this morning and now I feel like I’m running around like a chicken with my head cut off. :/  I busted butt and did a 4 mile run. My pace is still slow as hell and I really need to work on making that better. Lordy! While the weather was still clear, I took Rocks out for his walk and thankfully the rain held off.

Back home and stretched! I wanted coffee immediately and did not want to wait for after my shower.  I woke Scott up and then had a twist on breakfast.

Coffee, scone, yogurt and granola

Last night we were provided with some fabbo scones as we were leaving the party!  I had 1/2 a pumpkin scone (so good!) and a small bowl of yogurt.

2% Fage+chocolate granola+frozen raspberries+cranberries = goodness!

I did stuff in the office and gave a friend my word that I would help them out with a project. So after my post I have to log off the computer for a bit and get busy with work.  Hopefully it won’t take me too terribly long.  As I was squaring that away, I decided it was lunch time after I showered. ;)

Salad

Salad!

  • 1C water
  • Spinach
  • Carrot
  • Frozen pineapple
  • Frozen blueberries
  • Frozen peaches
  • 2 prunes
  • 1 red pear

Salad and smoothie

For something fun since Scott was having a bad day, chips with salsa! I had multigrain flax chips and there were regular corn tortilla chips for him.  I can’t even do chips like that anymore! I have come to love the nuttiness of the flax chips and prefer those!

Okay guys, sadly I need to boogie on out and get started on this project.  See you for dinner!
