July 1st, 2009: Almost there

Hi guys!  I did indeed have a white wine spritzer last night while watching TV.

White wine spritzer

First up was Kathy Griffin which this season is not so great, IMO.  Just saw the episode where she hung out with Paris Hilton.  Whoa, is all I have to say about that.  But the episode before that Kathy was staying at Paula Deen’s house and it was fantastic!  I have a lot of respect for Paula Deen anyway but this just makes me love her more.  Wonder how FoodTV is feeling about it though?

And then we watched Chuck because we still haven’t finished that show.  Did it get renewed? I have to say that the later episodes aren’t so great anymore and the plots seem very ridiculous.

I was in bed by 10:30 again, go me!  My alarm went off at 6am and I just was not feeling it.  I debated and debated about getting up and I finally decided to lay back down.  I didn’t fall asleep though, my brain was whirring and Scott was moving around too much.  I got up and took care of Rocks.  It was seriously gloomy outside and looked like it was about to rain any minute.  I decided on nixing the run too.

Slacker!

I know, I know.  My justification is that we don’t have MT class on Saturday because of the holiday, so I’m going to run then. I worked on my review post and also worked on anniversary things.  Once all that was done, I made some breakfast and had some coffee.

Coffee and yogurt

I decided on a yogurt mess this morning.  It seems like it’s been ages since I’ve had yogurt and my bod needs it so it became breakfast.

  • 1/2 a banana sliced
  • Fruit and nut granola
  • Frozen blueberries
  • Cranberries
  • 2% Fage

YUM!  After breakfast, I was out the door with Rocks.  It wasn’t raining yet but during the walk it started sprinkling a little bit.  When we got back home I started cleaning which also consisted of me mopping.

Lordy how I hate mopping!  I don’t even have that much to mop, just the kitchen area, but it’s still annoying.  We have very light colored tile and 1/2 the house is covered in it.  I hate this stuff!  First it’s only 6inch tile.  It is downstairs and  it covers:

  • The entryway
  • 1/2 bath
  • hallway
  • Laundry room/entry from garage
  • Kitchen

Square foot tile would have been a much better choice!  And because it’s so light in color it shows everything.  A dog and a husband means there are drops and plops all the time.  And dog hair that I’m swiffering up constantly or else I feel icky.  The upside is that it dries super quickly so there is no waiting around for the floor to be dry so we can walk around.

Then I stripped the covers off the couch cushions and washed those along with the throw pillows.  And all of Rocky’s bedding stuff.  Fun!  The couch needed cleaned though and since we’re going to be on vacation soon, might as well get it done now.

My belly started rumbling for lunch and I gave in to it’s demands.

Nectarine

Fresh fruit! I bought some peaches and nectarines that were on sale at Big Bird yesterday.  Today I sliced up two small nectarines.

Salad

Salad!

  • Mixed greens
  • Chopped beet (no more left!)
  • Peas
  • Corn
  • Crushed homemade croutons
  • Raisins
  • Sunflower seeds

Dressed with a bit of yogurt Caesar dressing.

Crackers

Crackers for hummus, you know it.

Salad, crackers, and hummus

Yumtastic lunch!

Cleaned and organized some more.  More laundry.  More anniversary prep.  You know how it goes.  Dinner soon! :D

  1. I loved the D-List episode at Paula’s house! I agree that this season is lacking a bit compared to others, hopefully it will improve.

I think saving your run for Saturday is a great idea. I love taking advantage of holidays, aka days I don’t have ANYTHING else to do, to really get a good, enjoyable workout in :)

  2. We’ve only watched the first ep of Kathy Griffen so far with Bette Midler and it was okay. As for Chuck, it got renewed next year but only for 13 episodse and it wont’ come back until March (thanks to Jay Leno hogging up so much prime time), so I doubt it will do that well when it’s been off the air for that long. I still kind of liked the show, esp. now that Awesome’s in on the secret.
