Hi guys! I did not “hop” out of bed this morning but I didn’t lay around for a few minutes either. I got up and got moving! It was disgustingly humid this morning for my run. I was a sweating beast! I did 3.5 of the most glorious miles. I felt strong and like I was flying! Funnily enough I ran the same distance and had the same time as on Tuesday. I even had the same average and highest HR as on Tuesday yet today I burned less calories. Oh body, you are a trickster!
The highlight of my run was almost getting run over. Fun! I’m on the left side of the road running towards traffic ( I know that sounds wrong on so many levels but it’s the proper way to run) and this chick was driving right at me. I was waiting for her to scoot over so, you know, she didn’t hit me and all. It’s not like you could miss me, jeeze the sun was shining on me and you know how women’s running clothes are, they make us look like freaking rainbow sherbet sundaes. But nope, chick was headed right for me. I moved over and started running in the ditch which I do not recommend, and right before she got to me she realized I was there and swerved over. Good times!
Aside from that the run was amazing! I slammed two glasses of CS and was out the door for Rocky’s walk. He proceeded to act like a complete fool so we were not out long. Once home, he got a time out and I stretched. Then I showered to get the running stank off and woke up my loves.
And then I went to visit my other love, coffee. Rich and dark, how I prefer just about everything in my life. I’m just kidding, not everything has to be rich. It was late in the morning and I wasn’t super hungry, and that means yogurt and granola. Today I added a nectarine and used fruit and nut granola (by Bear Naked) and it was delicious! I love peaches but I will go for a nectarine over a peach every time. This was so good that when I was done, I wanted more!
I did some bloggy stuff and other worky officey type stuff. I read blogs and tried to get caught up a bit. Then I finally whipped up some lunch.
Salad:
- Mixed greens (finished the box! *sob*)
- Shredded carrot, zucchini, and parsnip
- Raisins
- Beets
- Sunflower and pumpkin seeds
- Crushed homemade croutons
Honey mustard dressing on top. Heather, I make this by taste but I can give you the ingredients with guesstimated amounts!
- Mustard (I prefer a sweet and hot type of mustard but any works) ~1TBSP
- Red wine vinegar ~1TBSP
- Honey (agave also works and mixes in well) ~1/2 a tsp
- Olive oil ~1/2 a TBSP
- S&P
I like mine a bit tart so I use more mustard and vinegar than oil. I mix the mustard, vinegar, and honey first. Add in the S&P and then whisk in the oil. I taste and see what I need more of. Then just drizzle on the salad!
Smoothie:
- 1C OJ
- 1C unsweetened cranberry juice
- 1C Water
- Spinach (needs used up)
- Carrot
- Chopped beet
- 1 banana
- Mango (now I remember why I use frozen. Fresh mango is a pain in the butt!)
- Frozen peaches
- Frozen pineapple
- Frozen blueberries
Fruit!
Watermelon and cantaloupe.
Yum-a-lum!
After lunch I cleaned up the kitchen and got the pizza dough made for tonights dinner. I also prepped all the toppings. Go me! Now if only I could get caught up on other stuff around here. What a crazy busy week!
Ha! I love being mentioned by name.
That’s actually similar to a dressing I make except I use balsamic vinegar instead of red wine and I add garlic.
