May 31st, 2009: Penalty

Before we headed out to run errands and train a little bit for SF, I had some fruit.  No smoothie because we were about to embark on an afternoon of takedowns and throws, and I didn’t think a bellah full of liquid would work well in that situation.

Cantaloupe, blackerries, and strawberries (for Scott).  YUM!  And for extra staying power:

Half a banana nut Odwalla bar which was only okay.  I prefer their chocolate ones much better.  We left and were gone all afternoon.  I finally put my foot down and said we had to head back home because I was getting hungry for some dinner.

While prepping dinner, I munched on some salt and vinegar baked chips (Kettle brand not Lays).  It was a grill night at the HQ!

There was grilled zucchini which I covered in some chipotle peppers + sauce + honey that was pureed in the food processor.

Game hens!  I split them and one was marinated in a teriyaki mixture and the other had a spicy dry rub.

Slaw!  Savoy cabbage, grated carrots, and grated beet with some vinegar+mustard+honey+oil.  Very light and refreshing!

I had the leg of a marinated hen and the breast of the dry rub version.  I totally cleaned my plate, everything was delicious.  And I think it’s high time we finally bust out the deck furniture so we can actually sit outside while grilling.

After dinner, we got comfy on the couch for Game 2 of the playoffs.  It was another horrible game.  Granted the Pens did play a bit better but not well enough.  Lordy.

While watching the game I had a big honkin’ bowl of frozen grape heaven.  Love it!  And I watched as the Pens got spanked and Malkin done lost his ever lovin’ mind by games end (P.S. not a great video).  I hate to say I told you so, (not really) but I called that.  Also, NHL if you are looking for a project manager who can advise in situations like this, I’m willing to sit down and have a chat with you.  My email is in the “contact” section of the blog.  I can list personal and professional references. And I’m self-motivated and love hockey.  Let’s chat!

I’m done pimping myself. ;)  After the game I went up to bed to cry myself to sleep.  And slept like a log!

  1. Your grilled dinner looks great! I’m jealous– I really wish we had a grill.

I love frozen grapes! They were a staple in AZ. Sorry the game sucked again. I guess it’s good I’m not into it, so I can save myself the disappointment! Ha.
    Have a great day!
