June 25th, 2009: Bare bones

Hi guys!  I was pretty hungry last night after SF class which seems to be the case for me lately.  I’m not sure if it’s the heat or what.

Apple, prunes, pistachio crisps

I had an apple, two prunes, and a few pistachio crisps.  The cookies went over really well!  YaY!  The downside to the recipes is that they don’t make a ton of cookies per batch.  I’ll have to see what I can whip up for the seminar.

This morning I debated a run and when I stepped outside to let Rocky out I realized that running probably is not in the forecast for today.  Whoa but it was majorly humid already at 7am.  Yikes!  I came in and had some coffee instead.

Coffee

YUM!  Knowing that I have MT conditioning class later this evening, not running today is no big deal.  If I didn’t have class or wasn’t going for some reason, I would have hit the pavement, humidity and all.  A little while later, after I got Scott up, I made some breakfast.

Oatmeal

Despite the heat, I wanted oats.  Basic oats today and the mix-in was a crushed Super Charge Me cookie.  Double the oat power means double the fiber.  Umph, I couldn’t even finish my bowl I was so full!

After breakfast I did the glorious task of scrubbing down the house.  Then I got dressed and took Rocky out for a mega-super-short walk because it was Hades Hot outside.  A walk around the block resulted in huge boxer tongue sticking out and someone passed out on the tile floor.  You don’t even want to know what Rocky looked like.  This does not bode well for a weekend full of SF training in a warehouse building that has no AC.  I’ll probably lose a few pounds just from sweat.  Thank goodness we can wear shorts! And I may be busting out the tanktops too. I’ll probably intimidate all the fellas with my awesome pipes.

After I peeled myself up off the floor I got started doing dinner prep.  Oh yeah!  I got the toppings and spreads ready to go for this evening.  This way everything will be ready when we get home tonight.  Considering we have to make a quick stop at Sam’s on the way home, prepping ahead will save me loads of time and also my sanity.

After all the prep work it was time to actually eat some lunch.  I was feeling so uninspired today.  We really, really, really need to hit a grocery store because my fresh fruits and veg supply are nonexistent right now.  So I made this lame-O lunch.

Scrambled eggs and salsa

Scrambled eggs with some salsa mixed in.

Toast

A slice of 12 grain bread toasted with a bit of butter. Scott was in charge of buttering today. :o

Smoothie, eggs, and toast

And a very strange colored smoothie which I forgot to get a closeup of!

  • 1.5C OJ
  • .5C POM
  • 1C water
  • Handful of spinach
  • 1 carrot
  • Frozen pineapple
  • Frozen mango
  • Frozen peaches

Extra carrots on the side because I cut them up but they didn’t make it into the smoothie.  Everything was yummy but I sort of feel meh about the whole thing.  I don’t know why. I think it’s because I would have preferred an all “raw” lunch, meaning some raw veggies and fruits.  I did get that with the smoothie which was delish and very refreshing but it feels like it wasn’t enough.  However I was craving eggs so whatever, I need to get over it. :D

I’m off to get some things done before we have to head out and get our butts kicked at conditioning class.  Later gang!
