Hi guys!  I’m currently sitting here sipping on some citrus flavored sparkling mineral water that Scott picked up at WF.  Usually in the evenings I have seltzer for something different and fun while I sit on the couch and relax.  Scott doesn’t dig on seltzer because “it’s too plain”, his words.  He usually will sip on some Italian soda.  While we were at WF, he spotted the mineral water but didn’t read the label fully, he saw “Italian Sparkling” and stopped reading, just assumed it was soda.

Silly boy.

He tasted it and of course it is too plain so now it’s all mine.  It’s glorious!  Very light and refreshing with just a hint of flavor added.  However, it has sodium and at close to $2 a bottle, I’ll stick with my 79cents seltzer once this is gone. :p

On to eats!  Rocky was up at the buttcrack of dawn today so whatever, I got up with him.  It was still humid outside but not nearly as humid as it was yesterday.  I got him situated and then came in to write up yesterday’s dinner review.  Finally it was time for some coffee!

Mug of coffee

Coffee was just okay today, not fabbo but not horrible so I’ll take it.  Once Scott got up, I could make us some breakfast.  I was also starving as well this morning.  I couldn’t wait to eat some oats!

Oatmeal

Basic oats (with ground flax and vanilla protein powder), with some blueberries and raspberries added in.  Mix-ins were basic: coconut and crushed walnuts.  Then it was off to MT class for a very sweaty session.  I came home with a nice bruise on my knee so I must have tossed out some good ones today!

After class was over, we headed over to Meijer to see if we could pick up a corn-hole (I cannot say this with a straight face) game but they were all sold out.  Drat!  I did walk away with the perfect creamer though so I’m pretty pleased to be able to sip on that tomorrow.

We got back home and I quickly busted out some lunch because I was very ready to eat by that point.

Salad

Salad with yesterday’s leftover dinner:

  • Mixed greens
  • Shredded zucchini
  • Leftover grilled veggies
  • A few pieces of salmon
  • Black beans and rice

The salad was a bit dry so I added a few drops of white wine vinegar to give it some pep.

Smoothie

Smoothie!

  • Almost 2C of OJ
  • Splash of POM
  • 1C water
  • Frozen peaches
  • Frozen mango
  • Frozen blueberries
  • 2big handfuls of spinach
  • 1 large carrot

Blended to creamy perfection.

Scott loved that smoothie and said it tasted like a push-up. :D  Lunch totally filled me up!  Afterwards I headed outside to wash the deck off and prep it for the deck furniture.  Scott helped me bring that out and I got it wiped off and ready for summer.  Rocky was outside with me rolling and rolling and rolling around in the grass.  We told him to get his kicks in now because he was due for a bath.

Once he was done being simple, we came in and he got a good scrub down.  Then I got a good scrub down!

I hung out with Scott for a little bit and sipped on a fizzie.

Fizzie POM+Seltzer

Chips, guacamole, and carrot sticks

Then I got a wee bit hungry.  Not enough for a meal just a snack.  I had an avocado that needed used up quickly so I made a quick and dirty guacamole.  There were FoodShouldTasteGood chips to go with it and some carrots for me.  Carrot + guacamole = a great snack!  The flavors go really well together.  I didn’t want to sit down and just munch on chips, that’s what caused me to reach for the carrot.  Good move!

Lunch was pretty heavy and my snack filled me up well so if there’s anything more to eat this evening it will probably be a light snack.

Our iPhones are just sitting around looking pretty.  They have yet to be “activated” which means they don’t work as a phone yet.  They’ve been in “activation” mode since we turned them on yesterday.  I’m pretty annoyed about it.  Checking the ATT website, it doesn’t even say we’ve upgraded our account.  It still lists our old phones and plan.  Considering we ordered our phones through that website, that’s a little concerning right now.  Ah technology.

  1. I love sparkling water! I’m actually drinking some right now, haha.

That smoothie looks awesome! And haha, I remember push-ups! I loved those things.

That’s annoying about the phones–I hope the get activated soon! Have a lovely night :)

  2. I absolutely love carrots and guac, and don’t eat it often enough. My doggy needs a bath, too, but I don’t know if that will happen today… Bad mommy! The coconut on your oats sounds good; perhaps that’s my next add-in to try. I’m currently addicted to cereal with loads of berries added in, though :)

  3. Sorry about your phone :-( I love leftover salads!! I’m found avacados for 1/2 the price at food lion yesterday so I can’t wait to make something with them. Probably a wrap with leftovers- YUMS!
