June 19th, 2009: My precious

Hi gang and Happy Friday!  I am glad to see the end of this very long and tiring week, I can assure you.  I’m also looking forward to a relaxing evening and weekend with my two boys.

This morning I woke up before my alarm went off to the sounds of some serious thunder and flashes of intense lightening.  Oh my!  I thought it probably would be best if I didn’t run in that.  I did get up and get Rocky taken care of because it wasn’t raining yet.  If I can avoid taking him out in a monsoon, I will gladly choose that option always.

He came back inside just as the major downpour started.  After a brief discussion of options, returning to bed sounded the most appealing so that’s what we did.  And I slept till after 9am.  Holy cow!  I’m bummed that I didn’t get a run in this morning but I also realize that my bod needed the rest after such an intense week.  I was hungry when I came downstairs but due to the lateness of the morning only wanted something light to eat.

Coffee and waffle

I chose a Kashi waffle with some PB and honey on top along with one of the best cups of coffee ever!  I don’t know what Scott did but man the coffee this morning was fantastic.  After breakfast I putzed around and also worked on yesterday’s dinner post.  Eventually I got up to clean the house.  I was feeling so lazy this morning!  Must have been the extra sleeps.

11:30am came and went and a package we were waiting on did not arrive.  It was coming via FedEx and around here FedEx sticks to a pretty strict schedule.  11:30am is the delivery time.  The other delivery time is around 1pm.  I decided to hold out that long to see if our package would arrive.  I was bouncing up and down excited and have been looking forward to it for a while now.

After cleaning the house, I made us some lunch.

Smoothie

Smoothie!  I can’t remember the exact measurements of the liquids today because I was using up the last of the juices.

  • 1C water (I know that for sure)
  • POM
  • Unsweetened cranberry juice
  • Lots of kale
  • 2 carrots
  • Frozen peaches
  • Frozen pineapple
  • Frozen blueberries

Salad

Salsa salad:

  • Mixed greens
  • Shredded zucchini
  • Sunflower seeds
  • Sliced almonds
  • Flax corn chips
  • Dollop of salsa
  • Dollop of yogurt

Smoothie and salad

I learned from the last time and only used a wee amount of salsa and yogurt.  It was still a bit much though so I need to remember to pair it down even more.  Lunch was perfect today!  I stole a few bites of Scott’s shrimp enchiladas I picked up for him at WF and they were tasty.  A bit heavy though, seemed like perhaps a lot of butter and some cream going on.  A few small bites were plenty for me.

After lunch I could finally hit the shower and get dressed for the day.  I ran Rocks out for a quickie walk.  It was ridiculous outside.  Like walking into a steam room, very hot/humid and steamy outside.  Ick!

And at 1pm our package did arrive!  The OHC HQ has another set of twins.

iPhone box

Oh yeah!  Our first set was a pair of Macbooks which we bought in 2005.  I have been waiting for this phone for ages!  I hated my old phone which was a Palm Treo.  It stank. Not user friendly, the battery would drain if I took a picture or tried to get online, and it cut out a lot.  I’ve been due for an upgrade since January and knew I wanted an iPhone.  I knew they were releasing a new version this year so I patiently (and not so patiently) waited for the annoucement.  And now I’m off to play with my new toy! :D

  1. Hahahaha….I though you were referring to some other twins. Apparently that Cazuela at dinner did the trick ;) Your arrival is very exciting! My iPod is the only Apple product I have, but I love playing with my dad’s Macbook and friends’ iPhones. The apps are crazy fun!

  2. It’s been storming here, too! I’m glad your package came, and how cool! I always thought iPhones were awesome. I want one of those touch screen iPods, but I can’t justify buying one unless mine actually breaks down or something.
