May 8th, 2009: Breakfast and lunch

Hi gang!  Whew but it was a little rough getting up this morning.  I was so tired!  I had such a great time, my Recap Part I is up!  But admittedly being in a large crowd of people and where my personal space is breeched all night long tends to take a toll on me and wear me out.  Today is definitely a recovery day in every sense.

I got up with Rocks this morning and made my way into the office with a cup of coffee.

very good coffee!

very good coffee!

Last night one of the tables set up was for Cup ‘O Joe.  Which while Cup ‘O Joe is a chain, the roasters of the featured coffee were local, Staufs Roasters. Scott chatted them up and we got a free bag of ground coffee!  It was awesome and tasted as good as it smelled.

I worked on my recap and tried to make sense of all my pictures, notes, business cards, and menus.  Scott and I definitely have a bunch of places to now try out for future date nights.  Hooray!  I worked on that recap for hours.  I’m telling you, I try my hardest to bring you guys the best recaps I can. :)

Then I took a break for breakfast.  I wanted more coffee and fruit.

That means a yogurt mess!

  • 2% Fage
  • 1 tsp ground flax
  • 1/2 sliced banana
  • Frozen raspberries
  • Frozen blueberries
  • Fruit and nut granola

As much as I love Bear Naked granola, I need to start making some of my own again.  I really liked making my own and am not sure why I moved away from it.  After breakfast, I worked more on my recap report.  I know!  But it was finally ready to be published and that meant I could get my butt up and moving around.

So I cleaned the house.  I understand how jealous you are of my exercise of choice. ;)  I’m delaying Rocky’s walk so that Scott can go with us this afternoon.  As of right now I have yet to get out of my jammies but I did wash my face and brush my teeth leaving me somewhat presentable.

After cleaning the domicile, it was time for lunch.  More fresh clean foods for me!  Okay well maybe the vegan nuggets aren’t so “clean” but they are tasty!

There was a salad:

  • Mixed greens
  • Carrot
  • Cucumber
  • Sunflower and pumpkin seeds
  • Blueberry granola

With balsamic, smidge of honey, and oil on top.

Fruit!

I had most of my salad, a good bit of fruit, 1 sushi roll, and 4 nuggets.

While I loved last night and the food was fantastic, it did leave me feeling a little rough around the edges today.  Plenty of water and veggies are in my future.  I do have to change out of my jammies to walk Rocky and that’s only because it’s still daylight.  Otherwise, I would just slap on some shoes.

Once I get back from the walk, I’m putting my jammies on, lighting some candles, and calling it a day.  See you for dinner!  I’ll give you a hint, guacamole will be involved.  Hold down your excitment or else you’ll scare the neighbors!

  1. That event looks insanely fun and delish :D I LOVE the idea of eating at local places, but also want to know the good ones first! Usually I use yelp to at least get some idea
