May 5th, 2009: Breakfast and lunch

Hi guys!  I did okay at SF class last night.  My leg was sore but manageable.  The sad news is we forgot to tape the Pens game last night AND they lost.  Damn.  This means they are 0-2 right now.  Thankfully they are not getting their asses handed to them but losing by a goal.  Still I was kind of crabby that they lost and we missed the game.  We watched the finale of Heroes (snore) and had a snack.

I had an apple, kashi crackers, and sabra hummus.  Scott had a beer and I had two small sips of that and then stuck with my seltzer.  After Heroes, I crawled up to bed and zonked out.

Since I wasn’t running today ( :( ) I slept in a bit and enjoyed seeing 8am from my bed for the second straight day in a row. I’m not complaining about that!  I got Rocks taken care of and headed into the office.

Coffee was mighty tasty this morning.  Right before going into the office I did take a few minutes to roll my leg since it’s still giving me issue.  Now it’s more my hamstring that seems very very tight.  I’m okay if I’m walking around and it “warms” up for a minute, then it loosens up and doesn’t feel so tight or sore.  But sitting down or laying down for a while, then walking it’s very tight and stiff. *sigh* Thinking about calling the doctor to see what he has to say about the situation.  It’s Tuesday and still bothering me which has me wondering what’s going on.

After a bit I woke up Scott and made some breakfast.  I debated for a while about either having oatbran or yogurt.  I finally settled on oatbran since I haven’t had any for a while and I miss it.

  • 1 1/4C vanilla soymilk
  • 1/3C oatbran
  • 1 mashed banana
  • Pinch salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg

Mix-ins were cranberries, coconut, and dark chocolate PB.  It was so yummy and I totally inhaled it.  I had another small sip of coffee with a new creamer, Meijer organic creamer.  Holy crap this stuff was awesome!  No weird stuff in it like my regular creamer and so so tasty!  The downside is that it only comes in small containers.  Scott and I buy creamer by the 1/2 gallon, no lie.  Those little containers aren’t going to cut here at the HQ.

After breakfast, I got dressed and took Rocky out for his walk.  We did a medium sized loop and on the way back home I picked up the mail.  Although first I had to confront the construction guys who are working on a neighbors house across the street.  All I will say about them is that they are shady A$$holes.  One of them parked their big honkin’ truck in front of my mailbox.  I walked over to ask them to move it.

Hey, is that your truck?

Random Ahole: Uh, well, like it’s one of those guys back there, their truck. (points to backyard).

Well, could you ask them to move their truck so I can get to my mail.

Dude leaves and says lord knows what and an even bigger A-hole comes walking out.  Stares me down (Whatever dude, your intimidation tactics won’t work on this chick.) and moves his truck.  I get my mail and go on my merry way.  Once I get back inside I see where he decided to repark.

In front of my freaking driveway.

So now I’m currently contemplating on calling them in for parking violation and having their punk asses towed.  That’s right homes, don’t play with the A because she always wins. :D

After my walk with Rocks I discussed scheduling with Scott.  We have errands to run today since I can’t make MT due to my leg.  I thought we would be going early to get it done and Scott thought we would be going later.  So we had to come to a compromise.  I agreed to go later and then that would give us time to stop at Payless and Old Navy.

See, I rock at negotiations. ;)

After that serious discussion it was time for lunch.  Happy Cinco de Mayo!  I decided to be a bit festive.

Wraps!  Turkey, romaine, black beans, salsa and cheddar in a flatout and grilled.  YUM!

Cantaloupe for both of us and strawberries for Scott.  Isn’t that picture amazing?!

Smoothies!  I almost didn’t make smoothies but since I have 3 bags of kale I decided to make one.

  • 2C unsweetened cranberry juice
  • 1C water
  • Huge handful of kale
  • 1 carrot chunked
  • Frozen peaches
  • Frozen blueberries

Which resulted in that majorly dark smoothie.  It was yummy but gave a bit of trouble going down.  Not tastewise but texturally, it was a bit more gritty than I would have liked.  It’s time for a new blender and to seriously look for one, not just talk.

Now I’m off to get some worky stuff done before heading out to run errands.  Are you doing anything for Cinco de Mayo today?  I’m currently thinking of a fun dinner to put together.

  1. I need to get on the smoothies train soon. Those fruit look GREAT!

Argh, I didn’t see the Celtics game last night AND they lost :(

  2. Sometimes it helps to double blend the smoothies. I do that at work when there are raspberries or coconut in them. I find otherwise there is too much texture in them.

I would go to a doctor for your knee. It doesn’t sound good. Your hamstring is probably sore because you aren’t using your knee correctly and your hamstring is being used more. Or something. ;)

  3. OMG, I cannot believe the nerve of those construction guys. I’m trying to think of something equally obnoxious to do to their truck. See, that’s how mature I am.

    Your grilled wrap lucks lush-us.

Don’t run on that knee. I’m going to come park my butt in front of your front door so that you can’t.
