May 24th, 2009: Breakfast and lunch: And I go walking…

Hi gang!  How’s everyone’s weekend so far?  Mine is fabbo!  Last night Scott and I started the Pens game and he poured us some red wine.  I took about three sips and passed.  It was terrible!  And I’m not going to drink it just because, that’s a waste of calories and just a waste period. Why spend time drinking crap wine, ya dig?  So I bailed on it.  I also bailed on the Pens game.  I made it through the first period and had to call it quits by 9:30ish.  I headed up to bed to read and was asleep by 10:30! I understand how jealous you are of my rockin’ Saturday nights. ;)

I slept until close to 8am, oh yeah!  I got Rocky taken care of and poured myself a cup of coffee.

I checked in with the office and then headed into the TV room to chill.  I sipped coffee and flipped through the TV.  Then I plopped it on the Food Network and pulled out the laptop to work on some blog things.  Around 9:30ish, I headed out with Rocky for a nice mile+ walk.  I would have done more but he was ready for home since it was pretty humid out today.

After the walk, I finished up blog stuff and got my loves up for the day.  I was starving at this point and all I had on the brain was fruit and yogurt.

Perfection

Perfection

So that’s what I made, a big fruit and yogurt mess. It was so good and so perfect, I kept squeeing as I ate it.  It had:

  • 2% fage
  • 1/2 a sliced banana
  • 1/2 a red delicious chopped
  • Frozen blueberries
  • Frozen raspberries
  • Fruit and nut granola
  • Drizzle of maple syrup

Awesome!  Cool and delicious, which was perfect for the hot and sticky day.  I also had a little bit more coffee with breakfast.  I was still watching Food TV and Scott joined me for a little while.  Then we laughed at some of the stuff and played our Rachael Ray drinking game using coffee. :p  After I cleaned up the kitchen and Scott got beautiful, we went out for a walk!  Before the walk, I had a small snack because my tum was a little empty.

Raisins good, Luna bar bad

Raisins and 1/2 a chocolate raspberry Luna bar which was totally disgusting.  Ick!  It was too sweet and tasted like something you would get out of a cheap box of chocolates.  Blech.

We decided to walk around town a little bit and explore some of the surrounding neighborhoods.  It was so much fun and we saw so much!  We found a covered bridge, a one room school house, and an old church.  And also a wee little restaurant tucked down an alley that seems to serve pizza.  We definitely are going to check it out!  Scott and I busted it around town for an hour and a half!  I wore my HRM so I could check my cals burned and it wasn’t too shabby of a result.

Once back home, I showered to get the sweat and sunscreen off.  Then after I was squeaky clean, I made us some eats!  Scott requested a breakfast burrito and I had a salad.

Topped simply with some red wine vinegar and olive oil.

I also made us some virgin sangrias!

  • Unsweetened cranberry juice
  • POM
  • Cran-Raspberry Seltzer
  • Frozen Pineapple
  • Frozen Blueberries
  • Frozen Raspberries

And for some carby goodness, multigrain chips and salsa!  We finished the Pens game while we ate and sipped our drinks.  Now the rest of the evening is ahead of us for relaxing!

  1. Life is WAY too short to drink mediocre wine! Seriously though, your Saturday night sounds sooooo restful! I am a bit jealous ;)

I’m just not a Luna bar fan at all, and I agree, that flavor is a bit off.

  2. I like the Smores Luna bar myself. The caramel nut brownie one is ok but not great. My favourite is the Nutz over Chocolate but I can’t find it anymore. :( I can’t eat the Cliffs or Larabars – they taste too chalky to me. Which is too bad because the Luna bars are harder to find here.
