April 26th, 2009: Dinner

Hi guys!  We didn’t sit down to dinner until 10pm last night. :o  So that’s why there was no post up!

After I got done with my morning post, I went into the kitchen to make a snack.  I was still a bit hungry!

Apple & PB

Apple & PB

A slice of 12 grain bread with PB and a big sliced apple.  Rocks and I sat on the couch sharing my snack and I also iced my knee.  Scott was a love and did the dishes for me. :cheerful:  Then we pretty much chilled the rest of the day.  We watched TV and later in the afternoon I had another snack.

Fishie fish

Fishies!  Whole grain and those were all mine, I wasn’t sharing. :p  We watched more TV and then played some Lego Batman.  I told you I was wiped out!  My body was just like, Uh, I don’t know what happened earlier but we need to just lay here on the couch.

April 26th, 2009: Breakfast

Helloooo!!  Can we get right to talking about how I ran 10 miles today?  Holy hell y’all I’m still processing the fact that I ran freaking 10 miles today!

I got up and got Rocky taken care of as quickly as possible.  It took me a while to get everything together before leaving the house this morning because I had to fill my CamelBak and load it with essentials.  Cell phone, fuel, chapstick, all the necessities.

Once that was done I headed out the door and to the local trail.  We have a rails to trails park here and since it’s close I figured I could use that for my long run.  It starts downtown and I can easily walk there.  The walk to the trail is about 15-20 minutes which sort of stinks.  Not that it’s a bad walk just that it’s added on time to an already long run.  The only downside is that I didn’t really like walking through downtown in my running clothes.  Unless I drive, I for sure will not be wearing any running skirts!

Saturday, April 25th, 2009

Hi guys!  This is going to be real brief but no worries, nothing exciting happened yesterday anyway. ;)

wakeup

I got up way too early and stumbled downstairs to have some coffee.  I let Rocky out and then left the sliding glass door open because it was HOT outside.  Goodness!  This weekend we’ve bypassed Spring and just went straight to August apparently.

I did some officey/worky/bloggity things and once Scott got up I made breakfast.  It was hot so I was really feeling the oatbran and instead decided on some yogurt mess.

cool and refreshing

I had a little bit more coffee and then had:

  • 2% Fage
  • Banana nut granola
  • Raisins
  • Cranberries
  • Frozen blueberries
  • Frozen raspberries
  • Ground flax

YUM!  That did the trick and I was ready to hit some MT class. I almost wore a tanktop to class but didn’t feel like doing a quick shave so I wore a shirt.  That was a mistake, it was hot in there!  My shirt felt like I was wearing a big huge mumu.  Ew.  After class we quick ran some errands and then cleaned up.  Lunch was easy!

April 24th, 2009: Dinner (and BJ’s Brewhouse Review)

Hi gang!  Scott and I almost didn’t go out last night because he had a work thing going on that needed attention.  I was a little bummed but tired so I was okay with that.  Well he got it “working” (if you are a software developer or into computers you understand the quotes) so we were able to head out.  First stop was to pick up my race packet!  Disappointment begins here.

We had to drive up to Westerville (20-30 min drive) to pick up my packet.  The store was also hosting discounts and yesterday was the last day to get the most discount on purchases, 20%.  Which is why I wanted to go that day.  Since we were going to be up there anyway, Scott said we should have dinner which lead to date night.

So we arrive and I look on the printout to find my number.  I get it and inside the store is a bit chaotic.  I guess everyone had the same idea I did, go in Friday night.  Bummer because running stores aren’t big anyway so when there’s a bunch of people in there, I can’t think straight.  Too much going on for my wee brain.  I start looking for my packet and someone comes over to help.  She seemed very flustered and very generic.  Just going through the motions.  She hands me my bib and then tells me that they don’t have any medium shirts because they didn’t arrive with the shipment.    Part of our race packet was to include a technical tee-shirt.  A small is too small and I didn’t want a men’s (which were white and the women’s this really ugly gross grey. What’s up with that?!) so I have to wait until it arrives and then I can come back and pick it up.  Lovely.

April 24th, 2009: Breakfast and lunch

Hi guys!  Wow what a beautiful day in Columbus!  Here’s hoping it lasts.  Some people further out west are getting snow right now and um, that’s not something I like hearing at this time.  For now it’s time to enjoy it. :D

I flip-flopped on doing a light run and no run today.  I ended up taking a rest day, don’t want to push myself too hard right off the bat.  I have MT tomorrow and then my long run on Sunday so in terms of exercise I think it will work out.  I rolled out of bed this morning around 7:30ish and got started on my day.

filled to the brim

filled to the brim

I had a cup of coffee to get me through some emails, blog, and office duties.  Then I headed up to wake up Scott and get some breakfast.  As I was pulling out things to make for breakfast, I got sidetracked and started organizing the downstairs a little bit.  Slowly but surely I will get this house looking nice.  Then I had breakfast with another 1/2 cup of coffee.

April 23rd, 2009: Dinner

Hi guys!  Last night I was too wrapped up in the Pens game to leave the couch and I also may or may not have been passing out trying to stay awake. :p

Before going to MT last night I had some yogurt and granola.

why dirty a bowl?

why dirty a bowl?

Out of the container like an animal.  It was the last of the yogurt.  I actually wanted cereal but since I don’t really eat cereal, there was none to be had for me.  Boo  I have PB Puffins but don’t like them in milk because they lose the PB!  I haven’t had yogurt in a few days and needed some for calcium, protein, and to keep my digestive tract healthy so I ate it.

Do any of you eat yogurt to help keep your digestive tract in order and clean?

Then it was time for class which was a really great class last night.  Lots of pushups and crunches.  Then loads of stuff on the bags.  I did 120 punches in a 01:05, oh yeah!  We had a minute and a 1/2 to complete.  Try throwing 120 punches as fast as you can, it’s not easy. ;)  My kicks could have been better, I only got 23 and 26 done in 30 seconds.  I have gotten up to 28 before, need to get back up there!

April 23rd, 2009: Breakfast and lunch

Hi guys! Last night after SF class, I was a bit munchie.  We did a lot of throws and takedowns last night and man those are the worst nights.  Only because you have to keep getting up and down off the floor.  That’s tiring!  I just put out a little plate of munchies.

munchie

  • 2 prunes
  • Apricots
  • Cheddar
  • Peanuts
  • Pistachios

I ate the prunes (love them! Scott does not.) and a few apricots, and one slice of cheddar.  I picked at the peanuts and pistachios.  Scott pulled out a Honey Porter and I sipped on that more than I was planning.  It went really well with the peanuts.  Surprise, surprise!  Then after I got my leg rubbed, I hit the sack.

The minute I got up this morning all I kept telling myself was that I was going to do 6 miles.  “I’m doing 6 miles today.”  “Getting in 6 miles this morning.” And every variation thereof.

Review: Stoneyfield Oikos Greek Yogurt

Stoneyfield Greek Yogurt

Stoneyfield Greek Yogurt

Hi gang!  Kristina at Stoneyfield contacted me about their Greek style yogurt called Oikos.  She offered to send me some coupons to give the yogurt a try and review for you all.  Of course I agreed!  I love yogurt and free yogurt is always welcome in this house.

I will say right off the bat that I love Stoneyfield yogurt.  And if we have yogurt in this house that is not Greek style, then it’s Stoneyfield Farms yogurt.  Their yogurt is organic and comes in many varieties and flavors.  Our fave being Whole Milk French Vanilla with cream on top.  Oh yeah that yogurt is some very creamy goodness.  The vanilla being just enough for flavor and sweetness but not overpowering.  Rocky gets the Whole Milk plain yogurt.  We really do love the stuff!  It can be tricky to find in my area though and I’m not sure why.  I also have a lot of trouble finding the Oikos Greek yogurt but I think its popularity is starting to increase.

April 22nd, 2009: Dinner

I told you it wouldn’t be long till we had dinner. ;)  I was hungry and had lots of options floating around in my wee brain but it came down to not wanting to have a bunch of dishes to wash.  I decided on making breakfast for dinner.  It’s been a while since Scott and I have had a Sunday style breakfast, so that was on the agenda for this evening.

dinner time

Blueberry waffles and chicken breakfast sausage.  The fruit is already in the waffles! ;)  These were my lightest waffles yet made with seltzer and the flax+water combo for the egg part.  So yummy!  They were so light and airy I went back for more.

I had another small waffle and only half that chicken sausage.  Mmmm now I’m full and content.

On the agenda for this evening is:

  • Relaxing
  • Reading
