April 23rd, 2009: Breakfast and lunch

Hi guys! Last night after SF class, I was a bit munchie.  We did a lot of throws and takedowns last night and man those are the worst nights.  Only because you have to keep getting up and down off the floor.  That’s tiring!  I just put out a little plate of munchies.

  • 2 prunes
  • Apricots
  • Cheddar
  • Peanuts
  • Pistachios

I ate the prunes (love them! Scott does not.) and a few apricots, and one slice of cheddar.  I picked at the peanuts and pistachios.  Scott pulled out a Honey Porter and I sipped on that more than I was planning.  It went really well with the peanuts.  Surprise, surprise!  Then after I got my leg rubbed, I hit the sack.

The minute I got up this morning all I kept telling myself was that I was going to do 6 miles.  “I’m doing 6 miles today.”  “Getting in 6 miles this morning.” And every variation thereof.

My leg is sore but it’s not tight which thank goodness is a world of difference.  It’s sore from being tight and then massaged (as in, I have bruises up and down my thigh. I’m hardcore! ;) ).  I started my run and my left felt great.  It didn’t get tight on me at all.  After 3.5 miles, I kept repeating, “I’m doing 6 miles today.” and I started my next 2.5 loop.  I busted that out and was so happy by the time I got back home I was practically skipping.

:woohoo:

No ill effects after the run either.  I can totally bust out 10 miles on Sunday for sure.  I had a quick glass of CS and then stretched.  Hit the shower for a speedy wash and was back downstairs in a flash to make breakfast.

Yummy breakfast

Yummy breakfast

Yeah, you know it’s oatbran.  Mix-ins super simple, just cranberries and some dark chocolate PB along with some coffee.  Mmmmm

I shoveled that down the hatch and then it was time to hit up PhysT.  I did a few new exercises and explained how I was able to hit 6 miles today no problem.  Wheee!  I didn’t have to get an ultrasound and I only have one appointment scheduled for next week.  And that’s tenative, she said that depending on how I feel after my 10 mile run, I might not have to go back in.

I probably still will though at least one more time before the race.  Plus I was supposed to get a new resistance band (more resistance) today but both of us forgot and I left without it.  Doh!

After therapy it was time to go back home.  I walked Rocky quick when I got back and then made some lunch.  Super easy lunch today.

Veggie-licious

Veggie-licious

A sundried tomato flatout with hummus, spinach, and tomato.  A smoothie to wash it all down.  Today’s smoothie was the best one yet!  So yummy!

  • 2.5 C unsweetened cranberry juice
  • Bunch of kale
  • 1 carrot chunked
  • 1 kiwi
  • Frozen mango
  • Frozen peaches
  • 3 ice cubes

It was just like drinking juice!  So light and refreshing, I want another. :D

Scott's lunch

Scott's lunch

Scott had an Amy’s veggie enchiliada meal that I added some extra rice to and some extra beans to the “beans” portion.  The beans were so good and I kept picking at them. I love beans!  I hated beans as a kid but now I love them.  Towards the end, I gave him the last 1/4 of my sandwich and he saved me some beans.  YUM!

Got to get some stuff done around here then it’s time to head out to MT.  Hooray for awesome days!
