March 11th, 2009: Dinner

Hi guys!  Guess what?  The package love continued today and I received an extremely generous package from Bear Naked, the granola I love so much!

They are awesome!  More about them specifically in another post. :D  On to eats!  Later this afternoon I was starting to get a little hungry and feel a little empty.  Since I hadn’t had any veggies or fruit yet today (I know!), it was smoothie time!  However, I didn’t have any OJ so I had to use vanilla soymilk and I will tell you, the thought of vanilla soymilk + kale sort of made me nervous.

Behold the purple monster!  In this smoothie is:

  • 2.5C of vanilla soymilk
  • 2 kale leaves, stemmed
  • Frozen blueberries
  • Frozen peaches
  • Frozen mango
  • 1 banana

I left out the carrot since I had a bunch of stuff in there already and it was going to make a thick smoothie.  Guys, this was seriously the best smoothie I have made yet!  I loved it with the soymilk, it made it thicker and no joke, like a milkshake.  It was awesome! And I’m totally using soymilk from now on.  YaY!  It was perfect and hit the spot.

After our shakes, we took Rocky out for a walk and then it was back home to decide on dinner.  I ended up making something special. :D  While it was heating up I snacked.

Three tortilla chips (1 eaten before picture) with some salsa and cherry selzter.  Mmmm  Then dinner!

Hello sweet sweet crablegs.  *heaven*  And on the side was roasted asparagus and some black beans and corn mixed with salsa, then heated up.  Very yummy!  I had butter to dip the crab in.  I melted the butter and then added some garlic cloves cut in half to make it garlic butter.  Everything is better with garlic. ;)  I ate everything you see there.

Then I went back and pulled out two more crableg halves just like what is pictured.  I only ate two legs and called it quits though, I was full!  Not overfull, but more of a full feeling than I normally let myself get.  So I was feeling every bit of those crablegs.  And?  Totally worth it!  I love crablegs!  Tomorrow I’m running so it’s all good. ;)  And if you think I don’t have room for a drink and maybe some chocolate you would be wrong.  I was crabby *snort* at the thought of tossing the remaining legs but Scott ate them which is totally out of the norm.  He likes crab but not enough to sit there and pick at legs.  Since he ate ALL the remaining legs, I can only determine that this means it’s actually Parallel Universe Scott who is visiting me and apparently Parallel Universe Scott loves crablegs.  Good to know, good to know.

See you tomorrow friends!

P.S. My actual birthday is on Friday.  I know with birthday week it’s hard to tell when my actual bday is. :D  And don’t forget to enter the contest if you haven’t already!  And if you are running a contest please let me know!  I always try to remember to post about them but then I forget, like a bum.

  1. I love crab legs but only if someone will crack them and get the goodies out for me.

I tried to enter the contest this morning but kept losing my signal here. The goodies look so chocolaty delicious!

    Happy Birthday week!

  2. Finally the actual date of the birthday.. dude did naked granola hear about your birthday too?

yum yum on the smoothie!! I am having so much fun reading everyone’s different ingredients

  3. I was never really interested in smoothies and juices until I got my Magic Bullet (that didn’t work and had to return) now I really want to make some. It looks like a great way to get fruit and veg into your diet. I’ll have to keep a look out for a cheap one. :D
