February 6th, 2009: Breakfast and Lunch

Hi OHCers!!  Today is a beautiful day at the HQ. The sun is shining and it’s warm outside!  Well warm for us; it’s in the 40s.  Whee!!  Tomorrow it’s supposed to be in the 50s, crazy!  It’s also supposed to rain which I hope gets rid of the rest of this lingering snow and ice.

I did indeed have a glass of wine last night and some maltballs!  I had a glass of piesporter.

And even though I could easily have, I did not eat that whole bowl of maltballs. :p  I had four like a good girl.  So yummy!

We watched the first period of the Pens game from Tuesday and then I had to head up to bed at 10:30.  I was passing out.  Whew!

6am rolled in early this morning.  I debated sleeping in but then figured I had too much to get done today so I dragged myself outta bed.  I got Rocky taken care of and went for breakfast.  I was surprised to see Scott had washed some of our new mugs that we got yesterday!

For breakfast I had 2% fage with some new apricot preserves which were way too sweet. Oh man.  I will have to go back and get something different.  Also in the bowl is some bear naked banana nut granola.  And coffee in the new mug!!  I love monogrammed stuff.  I never did before but now I’m all over it.  So I got some with the first letter of our first names and then another batch with the letter of our last names.  I feel all grown up with mugs like these.  :D

I read some blogs and did some office stuff while eating breakfast.  And then surprise!  It was light outside by 7:30am!  Awesome!  That means spring is getting closer.  Before it wasn’t light out until 8am and I don’t like running in the dark so I would wait it out.  I could not stay inside any longer, once I saw it was light outside I had to get moving!

It was 15F for my run this morning which was cold but there was no wind so it was an enjoyable run.  Most of the ice has melted and the spots where some remained I was able to easily avoid.  I ran and ran, bumped up my pace, and just stretched out my legs.  I enjoyed the blue skies and the sunshine.  What an amazing Friday morning!

When I got back home it wasn’t even 9am yet.  I had some CS and headed upstairs to wake Scotty-poo up.  Once he was up and moving I stretched with some yoga.  I so needed that today.  My legs are a bit sore from SF class and from MT conditioning class.  Plus my hips were tight and just needed some twisting and stretching.

After yoga, I headed back downstairs to get a snack and do some more bloggy things.

I had a pink lady and also on the plate are some 7grain pretzel sticks.  I had most of the apple and only 1.5 sticks.  Work type stuff got done and then it was time to clean the house.  Friday scrub from top to bottom.

Finally I could make some lunch!  I was so looking forward to it!

More hummus, you know it.  With carrots, green pep, and cucumber slices.  Since the spices got to blend a little longer it was way spicier today than yesterday.  Oh my!  On the side are something I picked up at WF.  They were called “Vegan Soy Nuggets” in a bbq sauce.  I love these nuggets!  I have no idea what they are exactly or if I could buy them in individual boxes at WF.  I should probably ask because I would buy these things in a heartbeat to have on hand at home.  I love the texture and taste of these things.  They are very chewy and hearty, not like a chicken starter which is sort of soft (for lack of a better term).

I added a little bit more bbq sauce to my batch.  This protein power lunch was very filling and I didn’t even eat it all!

After lunch, I ran Rocky out for his walk.  He was very happy to be out in the warm weather without a jacket or booties.  He is pretty much done with walking on snow though. :p

Tonight is dinner with friends!  Off to get some more worky stuff done.  Happy Friday!!
