You can totally do a 10 K in March. Adding another mile will be fine.

However I'm not so sure about a 1/2 marathon at the end of May. That's seems like a lot - you are doubling the distance within 2 months. "They" say you should only increase your training by 10% each week to avoid injury.

I googled for some training programs for the half.

http://www.jeffgalloway.com/training/half_marathon.html

I know the Jeff Galloway one is highly recommended. You can look at it and see if you think you can handle it.

As is the Hal Higdon one:
http://www.halhigdon.com/halfmarathon/index.htm

And then there is the Runners World one:
http://www.runnersworld.com/article/0,7120,s6-238-244-258-6851-0,00.html

and you know you can always ask on RM - I know you don't like it there but there are tons of people who have done lots of halfs. They'd be able to help you. <img src='/images/biggrin.gif' alt=':D' />

Andrea - I'm going to a beer tasting tonight and will have a full review on my blog probably tomorrow... I thought you (and your hub) may be interested.

Regarding your races - I don't know exactly how much you run now, but I am pretty sure May would be a good time a half. You'd still have 8 weeks. By chance, you aren't running the Pittsburgh half marathon? That is the race I'm about to sign up for, but I'm terrified.

If you are going to do the half, would you want to be running buddies via email? I am still really dealing with whether I can do this or not - and whether I'm thinking positively enough about it. I am actually about to write a blog post about it soon.

No worries if you're not interested/too busy... I will totally understand :) Just threw it out there.
