February 23rd, 2009: Breakfast and lunch

Hi guys!  Last night Scott and I made a dent in our DVR’d stuff or at least it seemed that way. :p  We knocked out another Pens game and they finally squeaked out a win.  Lord.  Then we watched some other shows.  While watching TV we had some red.

That is actually my second glass, and I only ate the the two maltballs, not the peppermint square.  The maltballs were enough sweetness for me.  At 10:30, I called it a night and headed up to warm flannel bliss.

I got up at 7:30 this morning to everything covered with a dusting of snow.  Meh.  I took care of Rocks and made myself some breakfast.

Coffee + creamer and a bowl of yogurt mess.

  • 2% fage
  • Vanilla protein powder
  • 1 TBSP of ground flax
  • Cranberries
  • Fruit and nut granola
  • 1/2 a banana sliced

Very yummy and perfect this morning!  I love having yogurt everyday and when I don’t have it, I sort of get bummed out.  I did some work stuffs and basic morning stuff, checking email and that sort of thing.  Then I headed up to get Scotty-love up for his work day.  After that I got dressed and started busting ass around the house cleaning and organizing.  I feel like my life is in constant clean-up, organize, and discard mode around here. Like it’s never ending.  Our “give away” pile of clothes just keeps growing and growing.   As soon as Scott takes pictures of everything for tax purposes, that stuff is gone.

I still need to take pictues of the dining set and couch bed we are giving away.  If you’re interested in a dining set circa 1940s, and a 1960s plaid pullout couch, just let me know. ;)  Then after all that is done, it’s time to go through the basement and garage and finally toss all that junk.  Last year we had a yard sale and we STILL have all the stuff that didn’t sell.  I want it out of my garage!  Part of my problem is that I’m looking at the whole picture instead of tiny parts and that is what is driving me bonkers.  This is my long winded way of saying that I’ve been a cleaning fool this morning.

I’ve also been doing laundry.

Eventually it was time for lunch.  Quick and easy leftovers!

Left over brown rice and roasted veggies from Saturday night.  Along with the baked beans from last night and a sliced green pear in the middle.  I actually added two spoonfuls of the baked beans right into my veggies and rice.  Awesome combo!  This meal filled me up perfectly, so well that I couldn’t even finish the veggies and rice, I gave my remaining to Scott.

After lunch it was time to walk Rocks (who had been bugging me all morning by following me around the house.  OY!) out in the cold and wind.  Lordy but I’m tired of this cold wind already.  Cold wind gets old fast.  I don’t like it because it just goes right through you making you cold down to your bones.  Also for some reason my right eye has decided that it needs to instantly start tearing up the minute it dectects cold and wind.  So I’m constantly winking back tears or wiping them away making me wonderfully attractive, I’m sure.  “Why is that lady walking down the street winking at everything?”

Happy Monday guys! I’m off to clean more but I’ll be back later with some revamped leftovers! :D

P.S. I know you’re jealous of my rockin’ flashback to the 80s gloves.  I bought them because they actually have little grippies on them, much like slipper socks, which makes it easier for me to hold Rocky’s leash during walks.  Like totally rad, for sure.
