February 22nd, 2009: Breakfast and lunch

Hi guys!  I hope you are having a glorious Sunday.  Mine is going by too fast.  Boo!  Last night Scott and I finished one of the most horrific Pens’ games we have seen so far this season.  It’s best to just leave it in the past where it belongs.

I did have a glass of red and some dark chocolate last night.  In that little bowl is some dark chocolate chips and a broken up square of 86% dark chocolate.  I had a few chips and 1piece of the square.  I made it to about 11pm and called it quits for the night.  For whatever reason I was passing out.

I woke up at 7:30 this morning and pulled myself out of bed.  It was cold and windy making me not want to go running.  I took care of Rocks and then debated with myself about heading out for a run.

“I don’t want to run in the cold anymore. I’m tired of the cold!”

Is what I kept telling myself and then my other half would come back with one of my mantras and then I would tell myself to shut it.  While I was arguing with myself, I had 1/2 a brownie Z bar for running fuel.

Who am I kidding?  I needed to get out and run. I forced myself upstairs and changed into my running gear.  It was cold and windy out and icy which was lovely.  I didn’t even consider icy and it’s a good thing too because that for sure would have sealed the deal for me staying inside.  I planned on doing a quick 2.5er, running as fast as I could but that changed once I saw the ice.  I decided to just go slow and do what I could.  I saw another runner this morning and after our brief acknowledgement nod to each other, I knew I wasn’t alone or crazy for running this morning.  Solidarity!

I ended up doing 3.5 miles instead of 2.5 and felt awesome for it.  I was so lost in my thoughts I almost ran by the house.  Oops!  Came back home, slammed some CS and then changed clothes.  Super quick yoga stretches and then it was time to settle down with some coffee.

And a little yogurt on the side, 2% fage with some bear naked granola on top.  I did some bloggy stuff and then it was time to wake up the Vice-Pres of OHC.  I hit the shower and then came down to make us some Sunday breakfast.  Hooray!

I have decided that to chase the snow and cold blues away, I would make it summer time in the house.  First we started off with a smoothie to help get our fruit in for the day.

  • Orange juice
  • Pineapple juice
  • Splash of limeade
  • Peaches
  • Pineapple
  • Mango
  • Banana

All blended to make a sunshiny smoothie.

Then we had coconut and lime pancakes.  YUM!  Recipe needs a little tweaking but I’m on the right track.  With a side of chicken breakfast sausage.

Now I’m off to get some stuff done around the house and hopefully get some Lego Batman time in today.  Summer continues with dinner. Experiment time!

  1. I love the idea of bringing the Summer indoors. I’m a person who doesn’t like being too warm, but even I’m getting sick of the cold weather and Winter cooking. As I’m on a new diet this year I’m looking forward to Summer produce and cooking.
