February 1st, 2009: Dinner

I don’t have to much to report from lunch to dinner. :p  We took Rocky for a walk and it was miserable actually.  It was nice to be out in the awesome weather but everything had turned to mush.  Some people in our neighborhood don’t shovel so all the snow on their driveway was a melted mess.  By the time we got back home we were soaking wet.  Ew.

Scott cleared some of the melted snow away from the curb out front, and while he was doing that I rearranged the furniture in our front room.  Looks much better!  He came back in and then it was time for a hair cut.  His hair was getting out of control, so I shaved it off. :D

All pretty

All pretty

The message on the fridge in the back says, “Great Job!  Woot!” in the magnet letters. :cheerful:

While he was showering and cleaning up, I got started on dinner.  We may not be watching the superbowl but we can snack like we are!

snack time!

snack time!

Truth be told I wasn’t too hungry and mostly wanted to pick at stuff.  And I wanted two things: veggies and beans.  I also felt like something spicy.  I put enough stuff out that I had veggies and beans and there were plenty of other things for Scott to be happy with.

I saw so many bloggers mention buffalo chicken dip, I had to make some!  I’ve never had it before and knew the basic ingredients so I put a little something together.  Going from left to right we have:

  • Edamame (drizzled with buffalo sauce. so good!)
  • Buffalo chicken dip
  • Killians, that we split
  • Celery
  • Carrots
  • Cucumber
  • Kielbasa
  • Roasted Chick peas
  • Spicy mustard
  • Tortilla chips for the dip

Missing from the photo is ranch dressing made with fage, leftover from yesterday.  I had one small scoop of the dip sans chips, just straight and it was very yummy!  And then mostly the edamame, veggies, and chick peas.  I had a few bites of kielbasa but not much.

Perfect picking food!  And we watched the Pens game from Friday as we ate.  Superbowl, what Superbowl? ;)

Now I’m back to hitting the couch with that guy up there and we’ll probably split another beer.  Cabin Fever maybe?  And I may have a wee bit of something, fruit or something as well!
