February 12th, 2009: Dinner

Quick post because the office is a little chilly! :p  Before MT today, I had a wee bowl of yogurt.

2% fage, sprinkle of vanilla protein powder, sprinkle of ground flax, and some bear naked banana nut.  Yum!  The protein powder added a nice little sweetness to the yogurt along with a bonus protein punch.

MT conditioning rocked today and wore my butt out.  But I busted out 28 round kicks in 30seconds.  Oh yeah, I’m a rockstar!  After class it was home to Pizza Thursday!  I wasn’t originally planning on making pizza this week because I figured Scott needed a little extra something special for his b-day week.  But he said he wanted pizza, so pizza it was.  I did a little twist though. ;)

While the pizzas were baking, we sipped on some red.  I started off with a small splash.

I tried my hand at making some deep dish pizzas tonight.  Look at those sweet little babies right there.  MMMMM  I used dough from WF, cut it in half and rolled it out a little.  Then each half went into a pie plate where I fitted it and pushed the dough up the sides a bit.

The pizza on the left is a “Mexican” pizza.  Instead of sauce I used salsa, and then added some pinto beans.  Then a little mozeralla cheese and cheddar cheese.  I had sauteed up some green pepper and onion to sort of give it a fajita effect and also added in some chorizo on 1/2.  However, I did munch on the leftovers that didn’t make it to the pizza!

The other one may look like a cheese pizza but it is not!  I used the leftover spaghetti sauce from last night as the base instead of pizza sauce so it had all the nice veggies and sausage in it.  Then topped it with a ton of mozzarella cheese.  These smelled awesome as they cooked and I think they turned out really well!

I had two slices, one of each kind.  I liked the spaghetti sauce one better but the “Mexican” one was still really good.  We finished the Pens game from last Friday where the Pens spanked Columbus but good.  Ha!

Now I’m off to sit back on the couch with a glass of red.  There’s probably some chocolate in my future.  And the wind has stopped!  Hooray!!
