January 27th, 2009: Breakfast and Lunch

Last night we got back a tad late from SF class.  After I changed into my jammies and got ready for bed, it was already 10pm.  I decided to just stay upstairs and read in bed for a bit.  I was freezing cold!  I was cold at class and then we stood outside for a few minutes talking which made me even colder.  My feet were frozen solid by the time I got in bed.  Sadly I never really warmed up even with the heating blanket on.  I was pretty chilly most of the night.

I got up this morning to more cold and more snow. *sigh*  Probably a good 1.5-2 inches of the white stuff.  Since I was cold (and made even more cold due to taking Rocky out) I decided on some oats.  Super basic ones today with 1 tsp of ground flax added and mix-ins being cranberries and dark chocolate PB.

Along with coffee and creamer.  I did some bloggy stuff, checked email, and so on, all the standard morning ritual things.  Finally it was time for me to wake Scott up and get changed into my running clothes.  I was being all negative today since I was cold and almost didn’t go out.  I just did not want to run in the snow.  I changed and strapped on the yaktrax and was out the door.  I had the bright idea of adding a scarf to my gear to help keep my neck and the top of my back warm.

Big mistake.  It made me too hot!  Yeah it was 16F outside but holy moly it was like a sauna with that scarf on.  I won’t be doing that again!  However, I wasn’t cold anymore. ;) Naturally, once I was outside I felt a lot better and was glad to be running.  The snow was slippery today, more than I’ve experienced before.  My yaktrax helped but in some places I felt like I was running like a cartoon character.  How their feet spin but they don’t go anywhere?  I did 4.5 miles and came inside for some Yoga goodness.

After 20 Hatha minutes I jumped into the shower which was wonderfully hot.  Then I came downstairs to some red delicious.  YUM!

Honestly it wasn’t long after eating the apple that I decided to get a move on lunch.  I saw lots of blogs eating breakfast and going out to breakfast which made me want breakfast!

Scott even brewed some decaf coffee to have with our breakfast lunch. :D  I made us egg wraps!  I scrambled up 2 eggs and some whites (I don’t know how much as I didn’t measure it).  In the wrap is spinach, green pepper, red onion, shredded cheddar, salsa and some egg.  I only had a small amount of egg.  On the side, instead of homefries, I did butternut fries.  My wrap is a multi-grain Flatout.  Scott had a regular flour tortilla and his also had some ham added to it.  Coffee with 1/2&1/2 and sugar.  Perfect!

Now I’m off to lay in bed with my kid.  He’s not feeling so hot today for some reason so I’m passing on his afternoon walk.  I know he’ll sleep better if I’m with him, so I’m going to read and do some work from bed.  See you guys later!
