Hi guys!  I’ve been super busy doing nothing at all and it’s been fantastic. :D

After posting I went in and poured some coffee; it was coconut creme.  So good!  I sat on the couch with Rocks, my coffee, and my word find for a bit.  Then I got up to make a quick breakfast.

Honey wheat english muffin with a smidge of butter and cinnamon sugar.  It was light and totally hit the spot.  And then it was back to my word find. :p  Scott got up and then I got up to start breakfast/lunch.  We had some leftover breakfast sausage so I made sausage gravy with it!

I couldn’t even tell you the last time we had this.  I made it slightly “better” with WW pastry flour, 1/2&1/2, and chicken broth (instead of straight cream), and added some chopped spinach as well.  I was going to add some pumpkin to it but the pumpkin seemed off so I left it out.

December 25th, 2008: Christmas Day

Hi guys!  Sorry no post last night but by the time we finally sat down on the couch it was close to 10pm. :o  And I was pooped!

Not too much happened after we got back from Rocky’s walk.  I mentioned I was munchy and Scott said he was too.  Seeing how it was going on 4pm I decided to just make some appetizers and our starter salads for dinner.

We had stuffed bacon wrapped jalapenos!  YUM! And the salads were very basic with:

  • Romaine
  • Spinach
  • Cucumber
  • Carrot
  • Sunflower and pumpkin seeds
  • Cranberries

Dressing easily with some oil and balsamic.  I started off with two jalapenos and ended up eating four!  To my credit I always pick the fat off the bacon because ew, fat.  And I only ate the inside of the jalapeno because the whole thing was just too spicy for me.  So that really didn’t amount to too much and I did finish all my salad!  I was craving some veg.

December 25th, 2008: Christmas Morning

Merry Christmas to you! :swingdance:

I got up early this morning, before 7:30am. :o  And got things together so I could be out the door for my run.  Rocky was taken care of and it was chilly so I knew that I would have to bundle up for my outing.

I was starving when I woke up but knew I wanted to get the run done before anything else today.  I tried eating 1/2 a Clif bar but it wasn’t going down so well, so I passed on it and just headed out sans food in my bellah.

I did the usual 3.5 miles and it was awesome!  It was slow going because I was tired and hungry but I was glad to be out nonetheless.  It was chilly and a perfect morning for a run. I only saw a few other people out walking their dogs but not too many.  It was really quiet and a nice peaceful run.

You all know I went running.  I saw a break in the rain and quickly changed into running gear.  I only did a short 2.5 miles today because I’ll be running more since we’re off for holidays.  Good thing I only did that because I made it back home as it was starting to sprinkle.  By the time I was upstairs getting ready to shower it was pouring again.

It’s been go, go, go all day!  I did some food prep and then made us lunch.  Easy leftovers.  I realize how much pasta that looks like but it was mostly sauce. :p  And there’s some clementines in the middle.  I had all my pasta and a good bit of clems.

After lunch I talked with my mom because she got her package I sent.  I also talked with my bestest bud, Bev.  *waves*  Hi, Bev! :D  And then it was more food prep!  Then I took a break to cut Scott’s hair, it was crazy out of control.  While he was showering and what not, I wrapped Rocky’s gifts including the big gigantic one.  Oh he is going to be so surprised!

December 24th, 2008: Morning

Good morning guys!  Happy Christmas Eve!  I am very excited for the holidays.  And Scott is making me more excited.  He’s excited and bouncing around which is too adorable for words.  If you knew him, you would know that Scott is very mellow.  I know how he’s feeling just because I know him and can pick up on the small things.  So seeing him outwardly showing excitement for the holidays is really fun and contagious! :swingdance:

The weather we are having is cra-zy.  Okay so it was super bitter cold with temps in single digits and “realfeel” in the negatives.  With freezing rain and wind and not fun stuff.  Yesterday it was cold with freezing rain.  And then the temperature rose at night.  That’s right, rose, not fell.  So the freezing rain became just plain old rain melting all the ice that covered everything.  And now our temps for today, tomorrow, and Friday are supposed to be in the 50s.

December 23rd, 2008: Dinner

Sorry guys! I was in full, we-are-on-vacation mode last night so all I wanted to do was chill.  Plus I was frozen to the bone and was trying to get warm.

Quick recap!

I got to take some time to lay in bed and read yesterday afternoon.  Rocks and I got all snug while it was freezing rain outside and it was very relaxing.  Eventually though it was time for me to get ready for MT class.  I wasn’t feeling so hot and honestly had I not already told my instructor I would be there, I wouldn’t have gone.  I needed something small to eat so I had:

A little bit of 2% fage, cranberry sauce, and some chocolate granola.  Just a little and it was so yummy!  I got ready, packed my gym bag, and we were out the door to class.  It ended up only being three of us in class last night but we had a good time.  We worked on a tricky combo which was giving all of us trouble. :p  I’ll get it someday!

Hi guys! We were home from SF, in our jammies and watching TV all before 10pm.  Hooray!  That almost never happens.  We busted out of there after class and since it was 11F outside, that was a wee bit too cold for an evening walk with Rocks.  So we got all snug inside instead.  I made us a small snack.  I heated up some apple cider, cranberry juice, and some spiced rum (just a wee bit) for us to drink.  I also put out a bowl of PB puffins.  Thinking Scott was going to help me eat them.  Wrong!  Guess who inhaled those Puffins?  That’d be me.  He was not snacky after his big supper and since I had a salad, I didn’t feel guilty snacking on a rather large bowl of Puffins. :D

I was so tired last night.  By 10:30, I headed up to bed to read for a bit.  I should have just went straight to sleep I think, that’s how tired I was.  I easily could have stayed sleeping this morning, but I had things I wanted to get done so I got up close to 8am.  Got Rocky taken care of and it was chilly outside.

TT: Relax!

Happy Holidays!

Happy Holidays!

Sorry guys!  I know things have slowed down considerably and that is because holiday prep has been going strong on this end.  The HQ is gearing up for celebrating the end of 2008 and what proved to be a good year for us.  After today, OHC HQ is on holiday.  Which means by this evening, the staff will have taken to snacking, drinking wine, and probably snacking some more.  They are a bunch who take their holiday very seriously indeed.  The blog will still be updated daily so make sure to stop in there to see exactly what kind of debauchery the staff has decided to get into.

Anyway, my TT tip to you today is to chill out.  No really.  I know full well that while the holiday season brings lots of yummy food, friends, and good times to the table, it also brings stress, tension, and bickering.  And seriously, do we need that kind of yuck in our lives during the holidays?  I don’t think so.

December 22nd, 2008: Lunch and dinner

Hi guys!  I don’t even know where my day went!  I don’t feel like I did all that much yet poof, the day is over already.  It is so bitter cold today and it was screaming for some soup.

I have also been craving BBQ sauce like you can’t believe.  I recently saw my fav store bought sauce has gone HFCS free!  Hooray!  So on some 12 grain bread I put on some BBQ sauce and some chipped ham for a quick and dirty ham BBQ open-faced sammie.  My fave sauce is Bulleyes by the way.  Love it!  And the ingredient list is not bad at all.  The soup was a chicken veggie deal.

After lunch and cleanup, I braved the weather and walked Rocks.  It was cold but tolerable because there was no wind, thankfully.  When I checked the mail, the last of Scott’s xmas presents arrived!  Whee!  Once back home I finished up the last of the xmas cards and got the packages finalized for the mail.  Scott whisked off to the post office to drop that stuff off and I had a snack.

Hi guys! I put packages together and did xmas cards last night.  All of that is done and now a trip to the post office is in order.  After that, we sat on the couch and finished the Pens game from Saturday.  It was disgusting. Ugh the worst game I’ve seen for a long time.  I was so snacky!  While we watched I had some popcorn and a glass of wine.  Scott opened a bottle of red because I needed it for the soup.  I use red instead of white wine in my French onion soup.

I didn’t have much popcorn, maybe a cup and a half.  It was good but wasn’t getting it.  I had another small glass of wine and then dived into the bark.  Bad news having this bark around!  I had a piece of peppermint and a piece of the dark chocolate bark.  Then had two more pieces of dark chocolate.  Salty then sweet,  PMS much?  Jeeze.
