December 3rd, 2008: Breakfast and Lunch

Here I am! Sorry about that! I feel like I’ve been running around doing, doing, doing and yet have nothing to show for it!

Last night I heated up a bit of Pumpkin Spice Silk for us to drink while we watched TV. Wow is that stuff sweet! Like hurt my teeth sweet. So I added some regular vanilla silk to sort of cut the taste. That helped but sweet mixed with more sweet didn’t make for a very satisfying “snack” for me. I’ll have to see if I can cook with it or something because it is way too sweet for me to drink straight up. I’m shuddering at the thought!

I was in bed just before 11pm last night and got all snug in my flannel sheets and electric blanket! Which I need to purchase a new one because the one I’m currently using I’ve had since I was like 15. :o And that was a while ago! I slept in a little later than I would have liked this morning and got up around 7:40ish. I was in the middle of a dream which is why I overslept and which caused me to wake up all groggy. Ew, I hate that feeling.

I got Rocky fed and pottied, and came in to make breakfast. Of course it had to be oats! Sad to say that my oats were not good this morning. I overcooked them a bit causing them to be way too thick and yicky. I think it was the protein powder that also helped contribute to that. I will have to scale back on the scoop and watch the oats more closely tomorrow so it doesn’t happen again. This is the second day in a row of bad oats and it’s starting to make me cranky.

I had that along with morning coffee + creamer which was good.

Around 9:30ish I finally headed out for my run and don’t you know I overdressed! Whaa?! Yesterday was miserable with cold and wind. Today I didn’t even think anything of it and figured it would be the same as yesterday. Wrong, it was hot. I had my jacket unzipped most of the way and loving when a breeze came by so I could cool off.

I ran a new loop today and I’m not sure the mileage. On the old 3.5mile route, there is a house getting built. The construction guys creep me out a bit because they all stop and stare at me as I run by. They are on part of the loop I run twice so I’m not sure if they think I’m running by on purpose because I’m flattered and like the attention or what, but I finally decided that I will not be running by them any longer. I know it takes me 45 minutes to run 3.5 miles so I just ran for 45 minutes today. When 45 minutes was up, I wasn’t home yet but close, I clocked in at 47 minutes.

I was tired and sore (still sore from Monday’s PT) after my run, all I wanted to do was stretch and shower. I had some water and drank some vanilla silk after my run. I figured it has the same concept as the CS, protein, sugar, and fat. It is not the same experience by any means and even though I love vanilla Silk, I was practically choking this down. Ew. I don’t know what I’ll do tomorrow.

After that I did 25 minutes on the Wii Fit. I did some strength exercises and some yoga stretches. Ahhhh! That made me feel much better. I showered and came down to make some lunch.

As I prepped lunch I inhaled this handful of raisins because I was having the empty pit feeling in my stomach.

Lunch was awesome! I had a huge salad with:

  • Romaine
  • Spinach
  • Broccoli
  • Cucumber
  • Sunflower and pumpkin seeds
  • Corn
  • Sliced almonds
  • A few of the fried onion straws

I topped my salad with a bit of salsa for dressing. On the side for some extra fat and protein is a LC wedge and some Kashi veggie crackers. I ate almost all of my salad and had about 5 crackers with cheese. Scott finished the rest.

After lunch and cleanup, I took Rocky out for his walk. The weather went all crazy again and it was back to freezing cold with nasty cold wind. Brrrr! The creepy construction guys were on lunch or something so I was able to cut the walk a bit shorter. We were probably gone 20 minutes or so. When I got back, Scott had brewed some decaf coffee, so I had a mug with some Silk nog in it. It was okay, not as creamy as I thought it was going to be.

Now I have to get some work done and some stuff around the house. I’m also going to have a pear!  See you later!

  1. haha i did the SAME thing with my oats this morning (my EMBARRASED post)! Bleh they were like rubber….I love that silk nog but it is superr sweet, but not as thick as regular nog which i like!

    Ugh to the construction guys! I hate it when people knock me out of my “zone” when I’m running. Boo to them. Your salad looks delightful :)
