Morning guys!! After posting last night, I went over my order at Nike and showed Scott what I was getting. I searched and searched and searched, finally deciding that Nike had the best hoodies and jackets. They had everything I was looking for plus some bonus features, like pockets for MP3 players and built in mittens. I originally chose a hoodie and a pair of cold weather running pants that were on clearance. I had my eye on a running jacket for winter that I would get if my other purchases worked out. Then we got this super cold weather that blew in and I decided to just go ahead and get it. I was wincing at the price because holy cow did you know running gear isn’t cheap? I bet you did. I was unprepared for that and a little grumpy about it (why am I paying so much for something I’m going to sweat in?!) Before I finalized the purchase, Scott found me a 20% off coupon that I was able to use. Made the total a little more tolerable. Although I was charged tax, what’s up with that?! I made my purchase and am awaiting its arrival.

October 27th, 2008
Hi guys! Wow it’s been a long day! Other than the brief time I sat down to do the last post, this is the first time I’m sitting down today. :o
Today started off a little different because my PT time got changed. There used to be someone before me and someone after me. Cue recession and those folks had to cut back, so my time got bumped to earlier. Which is cool with me, I would much rather get up and get my stuff done, that leaves me with the rest of the day to do my other stuff. So early this morning as I was trying to wake up, I had some breakfast. Coffee + creamer, 1/3 C of 2% Fage and some bare naked banana nut granola on top. This granola is starting to grow on me. The sweetness of it is balanced out by the tartness of the yogurt, they work well together.
October 26th, 2008: Lunch and Dinner
Hi guys! I know so late in the day! Let’s get cracking on the recap!
I tried to get caught up on blogs as much as I could after posting the breakfast post. Eventually I got hungry and decided it was time to start making Sunday breakfast, I knew the smells would get Scott up. I moved around the kitchen for a little while trying to figure out what to make. I was hungry and didn’t want something that took too long. I also wasn’t in the mood for anything sweet like waffles or pancakes. I eventually settled on making a dressed up open-faced egg sandwich. This turned out to be probably one of my more favorite meals and we will be having it again!
I fried up an egg for each of us, his runny and mine fully cooked. Then I lightly toasted up some blues bread. Once it was toasted, I put on some leftover pizza sauce on the bread, then a slice of prosciutto, then the egg, and then topped that with a slice of provolone. Put it back in the toaster oven to toast up some more and melt the cheese. Along side we had some sundried tomato and basil chicken sausage that I cooked in a skillet. And some fruit salad made with peaches, pineapple, and mango (all frozen and thawed). I ate all of my sandwich and sausage (that’s half a link in the pic) and then I had a few more bites of the chicken sausage on Scott’s plate. Yum! This was so tasty and full of flavor.
October 25th, 2008: Dinner AND October 26th, 2008: Morning
Hi guys! Doing two posts at one time because it just makes things easier for today. At least I think so. ;)
We moved the bedroom furniture around and it took us quite a while, only because the stuff we have is heavy and bulky. It’s back to the way we used to have it when we first moved in the house. I like this arrangement only okay. It makes the most sense to have it this way but it seems so typical, which is why I’m only okay with it. I think if I dress the room up with some shelves, candles and pictures it will spice it up and give it some more life.
That took us till about 5ish. I fed Rocky his dinner and got him out for a potty run. I was starting to get hungry myself. We were having pizza for dinner since we missed it on Thursday. I figured I could get all the toppings ready and the sauce made, then get the dishes washed so all I would have to do is assemble the pizza having minimal cleanup after dinner.

October 25th, 2008: Breakfast and Lunch
Hi guys! I didn’t have time to post this morning before heading to class. Last night’s recap took awhile!
I got up this morning a little bit before 8am. Not too shabby considering I was in bed by 10:30. I got Rocky taken care of and then sat down to have some coffee and import the pictures from last night. I didn’t even get to surf this morning, I went straight to blogging. I normally sit on the couch while blogging which is what you’re looking at. My lil laptop and lapdesk.
After the post was up it was time for me to have some breakfast. I kept going back and forth on what to have.
I finally decided on some Kashi cinnamon shredded wheat cereal. It was yummy! Then it was off to MT class. Class was small today. Some of the people are getting ready for a fight next month and fight class is before the Sat. Class, so most of the fighters don’t stay for class which cuts the number down. We worked on elbow spikes and some knees today. I got some one-on-one time with my trainer and worked my round kicks. They are the bane of my existence because I just can’t seem to get them to work right. The movement just doesn’t feel right to me for some reason. I’m constantly working on them and trying to improve them.
October 24th, 2008: Dinner
Hi guys! Around 5ish the rain really started to pick up and basically was pouring buckets. Ugh! So don’t want to go out in that! But we made plans so out in the rain we went. We were supposed to meet up at the restaurant at 6pm.
Not five minutes after we left I realized I had forgotten my phone. I blame the new purse. Still getting used to it and it totally slipped my mind to snag my phone on the way out. We get to the restaurant about 10 after 6, and explained to the hostess that we were meeting another couple and didn’t know if they were there or not. She let us look around and once we established they were not there, we said we needed a table for four. They seated us at a table for six. We got seated right away though.
October 24th, 2008: Lunch
Hi all! After posting the breakfast entry, I visited some blogs quick and then I took Rocky for his walk. Just because I didn’t get my cardio in doesn’t mean he should suffer, right? Plus it still looked like it was going to rain and didn’t want to risk him not getting any exercise at all if I waited too much longer. As we were walking down the block, I thought, “Hrm, this isn’t so bad. I could probably run once I get him back home.” Then, WHOOSH! And the wind was cold and I knew that running today was not in the cards.
Once home it wasn’t long before it did start raining and I was feeling pleased with myself for getting Rocky walked before it started.
Me: Oh it’s raining now! It’s all dreary and cold.
Scott: Well at least you can just get all snuggled now and hang out.
Me: I can’t get too snuggled. We have to leave later.
Steak and Potato Frittata
One of our favorite meals is a nice steak dinner. Marinated grilled steak with a baked potato and all the fixins. Classic. However, I cannot eat an entire steak. And depending on the size of the baked potato, I might not be able to eat a whole one of those either. We always have leftovers and I try to come up with different ways I can transform that classic meal into something else.
Enter the frittata. A frittata is a quick dish to make and it can take on any flavor or style you want to throw at it. So many different things one can do with a skillet and some eggs. The day after a nice dinner of grilled steak and baked potato, I decided to use those leftovers in a frittata. This is my version of a steak and eggs breakfast with a side of homefries.
October 24th, 2008: Morning
Dear Andrea,
You live in the middle of Ohio and this means that you will experience winter weather. Winter is cold. Winter has wind, snow, and maybe ice. But winter is most definitely cold. Fall, which leads into winter, is also cold. And it has wind. Wind can make things feel even colder. I don’t know why this hasn’t occurred to you before. I guess what I’m saying is,
Get some frakkin’ winter workout clothes fool!
Love and kisses,
Me
The alarm went off and I pulled my hiney out of bed. I dressed in my running clothes and stumbled down the stairs. Fed Rocks and got him outside. Scott has a thermal lined hoodie that I wear to take Rocky on his potty breaks. It’s warm enough for the short time I’m outside. As I’m standing on the deck shining my flashlight (hey it’s dark out) on Rocky as he walks around the backyard, I start getting cold. Now, the actual temp isn’t so bad and it almost feels a little humid like it’s going to rain. What was making me cold was the wind. There was wind! And it was cold, that wind, and it was blowing right through my pants and running shirt (the hoodie wasn’t zipped).
October 23rd, 2008: Lunch and Dinner
Hi guys! Sorry this didn’t get posted until now! I had every intention of doing a lunch post but that got kiboshed. But let’s get the recap on!
Yesterday I got my hairs cut by my regular stylist! Hooray! She had foot surgery and had been off for 6 weeks. Then it was a wait to get in to see her because there are so many of us and we are all fighting over appointments! :p It was so nice to chat with her again and have her cut my hair.
I’m letting it grow just a bit and am going to try a short, almost like a bob, with lots of layers and flip and swish. We’ll see how that goes.
I had thought I was going to be late for my appointment because Scott was running late and needed to stop for gas.
But it turns out she was running behind as well so it all worked out.
