October 1st, 2008: Breakfast

Happy October guys! :swingdance: I’m so excited! I love fall more than I can say and October is one of my favorite months. Plus today also means that OHC is already one month old! :o Time flies!

I was up and at ’em today. I went to bed at 10pm which is the second day in a row that I’ve done that and it’s been so nice. I wish I could do that everyday! I got out of bed at 6:45am and it was super dark outside. I tried to snap a pic of the morning sky but they came out so dark all you could see was a small point of light from my neighbor’s house. :p And boy was it cold (and by cold I mean fall cold not of course winter cold which will be coming soon). I was a bit cold in bed last night and had the ceiling fan off for the first time in a while. In fact it was so cold that I’m considering breaking out the flannel sheets already.

I wore longer pants this morning since it was cooler but I’m going to need something different. What do you guys wear during the cold months for running? I would like something with incorporated zip pockets to store my keys.

Refreshing

I ran the new route that I picked out yesterday and had bursts where I would increase my pace and keep my HR up. I didn’t go as fast or hard as yesterday but I did a good job. By the time I was on the home stretch I felt like I had just reached my pace and could go on for another decent distance. I didn’t but if that happens again tomorrow I just might! I slammed my drink and busted back out the door with Rocks. I only wore my little blue shirt thinking that would be fine but I should have put on a sweatshirt or something heavier. I was cold! And my ears started getting chilly too. I couldn’t wait to get back home and make some oats!

Perfect

Perfect

Oh this was the most perfect bowl of oats! It doesn’t top oats with peaches and/or nectarines but it does come in second. This standard bowl of oats had some crushed pecans, dried cranberries, sunflower and pumpkin seeds, and the best thing of all, dark chocolate PB! A huge spoonful of it.

The oats had the most perfect chocolate and PB taste to it through out the bowl (cause I mix my stuff up) and plenty of chewy crunchy things to keep me interested. Yum! Had that along side my morning coffee + creamer which was also perfection today. It was perfectly steamy hot and I chowed down on my oats so that I could focus on savoring the coffee.

Big plans today, lots to do and get done. Hopefully I can knock out everything on my to-do list!
