October 12th, 2008: Brunch and dinner

Hi guys! Last night went longer than I expected so I didn’t get to post about yesterday. After Scott got up I started making Sunday breakfast. I had some lunchmeat and some veggies that needed to get used so I decided to make a little quiche/frittata combo type thingie.

This thing was loaded up! Basic egg and milk mixture combined with:

  • Spinach
  • Broccoli
  • Onions
  • Ham
  • Turkey
  • Cheddar Cheese

And then baked for about 1/2 an hour or so. Yum! I also sliced up some pears, red and green, to have as well. And see that bread in the back? That’s the blues bread! It was awesome! Very nutty tasty with a good chew to the bread. We both loved it! :D I had a slice of toast, my piece of the egg thingie plus another piece, and most of the pears. I love me some pears. My constant desire to express my love for pears while we ate prompted us to list our top five fruits. Now this doesn’t mean we don’t like other fruits, just these are top on the list:

Scott (no rank just top five):

  • Cantaloupe
  • Strawberries
  • Peaches
  • Kiwi
  • Mango

Andrea:

  1. Watermelon
  2. Pears
  3. Nectarines
  4. Cantaloupe (cold please)
  5. Grapes (red or black)

What are your top five fruits?

After brunch and cleanup I have no idea what happened to the day but next thing I knew it was gone, gone and gone. I cleaned up dishes and did some quick prep for dinner later which included making some pizza dough. Then I started a load of laundry and while that was going we took Rocky out back for some play time. Chase, fetch, and tug! Wheee!

Then we came back inside and busted out the Wii Fit.

Fizzies

Fizzies

I mixed some of the blood orange Italian soda with some Limeade to make this fizzie. It was good but I think from now on I’m just going to save the soda and drink it straight up because it’s soooo yum on it’s own.

Crunchy

I also put out some snacks. Wii Fit probably doesn’t want you drinking and eating as you’re playing. :p But I was thirsty and a little snacky. I had two of the Raincoast crisps, two of the Kashi crackers, and I think three of the oyster crackers. We did Wii Fit for a while and it was making me a little cranky. However, that was erased when I got to witness Scott doing the hula-hoop exercise. Sweet jeebus I haven’t laughed so hard in a very long time! That was the best ever. Maybe I can get him to do it again today?

After that I made dinner which took forever and I knew I should have started it earlier but I just wanted some down time with my boys. Unfortunately, I don’t have any pics of my dinner because the battery died on my camera and needed recharged. But it included a little bit of rice, two little spinach appetizer things, and a small piece of chicken wrapped in pizza dough. I wasn’t very hungry when we sat down to eat but I knew I had to eat something, so I had a few bites of each dish.

While we ate we watched Bank Job. Mmmmm I love me some Jason Statham. The movie was okay. A little long and I thought they could have done a better job tying everyone together. But otherwise not a bad way to spend some time. While watching the movie I had a tiny glass of white and while drinking it I thought, “I don’t even really want this at all.” It was small enough that I drank it so I wouldn’t have to toss it. After the movie I went to bed.

Looking back it was one of those days that I thought I could have planned out better. I felt like time got away from me and I barely had any time to sit and reconnect with Scott. Down time just didn’t seem to be on the schedule for yesterday. Hopefully this weekend coming up will be much better.
