September 6th, 2008: Lunch and Dinner

Hey guys! Man what a busy day! We were on the go for a long time. After MT, we ran to North Market quick to pick up a few things. Then we came home for lunch and a shower. I was starving! My stomach wasn’t growling but my gas tank felt really depleted and I was running low on energy. I wanted something light and quick because I needed to eat, eat, eat! And also we needed to get back out the door and run some errands. I decided on grilled heirloom tomato sammiches with mozzarella cheese.

Lunchie!

They were on 12 grain bread and each side had about 1/2 tsp of butter on it for grilling. The moz cheese was more of the WF organic that we had on the pizza a few nights ago. Also for lunch was some cucumbers that I sliced thin and quickly dressed with some white wine vinegar, olive oil, salt, pepper, 1/2 tsp of soy sauce, garlic powder and some red pepper flakes. And the last bit of my Korean food from the night before. I left about a 1/4 of my sandwich and split the other stuff with Scott evenly.

After lunch it was out the door! We ran to Lowe’s where I got some bedside lamps, a shovel, and some hardware for some stands I’m going to paint. Then we ran to Bath and Body Works for some handsoap. Then we went to Old Navy to see if there were any summer stuff on sale. I got a pair of jammie pants (mens, they are always cheaper and I like the way they fit better than womens), two tee-shirts for cheap, some tanks either for running or sleeping, and some tanks for Scott. Also a set of socks for running. Then it was off to Target where we picked up some wine and I got some shirts for running. My other shirts were starting to feel heavy and bulky, so I picked up some nice light sleeveless exercise shirts for $10 which is a pretty decent price. I forgot to look for some spandex shorts which I do every time I’m in there! I wear them under my shorts at MT and I need a new pair. Gah! Someday I’ll remember. After Target it was time to go back home! I was pooped! :tired:

After we got things put away and got Rocky fed, it was time to start relaxing. I had 4oz (I originally typed that as 40oz! Oh my, I would have been flat on my face!) of pinot while making dinner. I love this shot because you can see some of the ingredients for dinner in the background.

Supper time!

We had some apple quesadillas along with some roasted fingerling potatoes. The potatoes had olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic powder and some other seasonings on them. We dipped them in ketchup. That’s still my first glass of wine that you see in the pic. Also some extra apple that didn’t make it into the quesadilla. Can you see that one potato I pulled out to the side? It looks like a peanut!

After dinner it was time to sit down on the couch for a bit. We watched a movie and I had 4oz of chardonnay. Then I had some ice cream.

Welcome fall!

Welcome fall!

I had two little scoops of all natural vanilla and two little scoops of pumpkin ice cream. While not all natural, I checked the label and there was no HFCS in it, whew! Then I had another glass of wine along with it.

That brings me to 12oz of wine total. And this time I was fine, so I think I just need to pay attention to my body more to figure out how much I can and can’t have. Scott had ice cream too and he had two little scoops of all natural coffee ice cream and two little scoops of pumpkin ice cream. I had to try a bit of it and it was awesome! It was like a pumpkin latte, so yummy! I may have to do that next time we have ice cream. :D

We rewatched Swingers last night. When I first saw this movie I thought it was okay. I didn’t love it like everyone else did. But after last night, holy cow, I don’t even know how I thought it was okay the first time around. Man but that movie was horrible! After the movie I went to bed to read for about 1/2 hour then I was out like a light!

  1. Heather says:

    What’s HFCS?

mmm pumpkin ice cream sounds delish. I need to find some of that. *thinks*

I find with alcohol it depends on what I’ve eaten and when (and not even that day – the previous day!). Sometimes I’m fine with more than one drink and sometimes two will have me flat on my face.

  2. High Fructose Corn Syrup. Too many things have it as an ingredient and I’m trying to get rid of all the stuff I currently have where that’s an ingredient (like ketchup!). And trying to avoid buying it in the future.
