September 23rd, 2008: Morning

Hey guys! I am feeling a little blah today. I’m a bit tired (due to hormones, I believe) and sore from yesterday’s PT workout. We went to SF last night and didn’t get home until 9:30ish. By the time Rocky gets his evening walk and we are changed into jammies, it’s usually going on 10pm. That’s so late! I want to be in bed by then already, not just starting to get ready for bed. I wish class was earlier.

I was tired and a bit sore last night when I got home. I was sore from PT, my legs were stiff and my shoulder and shoulder blade areas were really sore. I have no idea what caused that since I worked legs yesterday. In SF we did some joint locks and my wrist ended up being a little achey. All I wanted last night was something indulgent and delicious before heading to bed.

Bedtime snack

I had the adult version of cookies and milk before bed. While watching a little TV, I had two kashi cookies and a small glass of red wine. I love these cookies. They are soft and chewy because they are loaded with whole grains, dried fruit, and nuts. So yummy! After that I went straight up to bed.

During the night I turned off my alarm and decided to get as much sleep as I could. I was tired and my body was so sore, I knew I had to give it a rest this morning. I work up around 7:20 and started the day. While the coffee was brewing I fed and got Rocky out for his morning potty. It was nice and chilly this morning and would have been perfect for a run but I stayed in.

Since I didn’t run, I didn’t want to have a huge bowl of oats, that would have been too heavy. I opted for the sliced banana, yogurt, and some granola instead. I ate that while letting the coffee sit and get nice and steamy.

After about 45 minutes or so I finally got some coffee. Mmmmm! It was yummy and hot, hot, hot. Perfect! Coffee plus creamer. After sipping the coffee and finishing it, I got dressed to take Rocky out. Just because I wasn’t running doesn’t mean he goes without a walk. Plus I wanted to use that walk to help work my muscles so they wouldn’t be so stiff. It helped a little. Once we got going my quads starting loosening up and moving smoother.

By the time we got back home, it was time to get Scott up. Steps are still not my friend today. :p I had Scott rub some Thai Oil all over my back and shoulders to help loosen those up. And it worked almost instantly, they feel so much better. I got dressed and came downstairs to sit and stretch. I stretched for a good 10 minutes to try and work all the kinks out of my legs.

I have been trying to buy a Wii Fit since it came out. I have a really bad habit of not stretching after my runs, I just want to change and sit down. But the Wii Fit has a yoga section (granted, I realize it’s not like a real yoga class) and I want to use that as my cool down. But dang, I cannot find one. I even signed up for Amazon to text me when they get them in stock, and as soon as I get the text I immediately turn to my computer to place an order and they are not there. :grumpy: I’m hoping to find one soon. If anyone has used it, feel free to pass along your thoughts.
