September 13th, 2008: Lunch and Dinner

What a crazy day! We were just about to leave for MT when Scott was running around asking if I had seen his MT shirt (the one that has the school logo on it) and I said no. He wanted it to change into after class to wear it for the demo. We looked all over the house and I had asked him several times if it was in his bag already. “NO!” was the answer I got each time. Finally I told him to just take my other one because we needed to get going. His bag was downstairs as he was getting other stuff together. Because I know Scott well, I knew that even though he told me it wasn’t in his bag that he didn’t actually look for it in his bag. So I looked. Guess what I found? Not only did I find his shirt, but it was all crumpled up and sweaty because he left it in his bag after a class from last week. Ew, much? “Hey I found it.” “Where was it?” “In your bag!” “Oh.” :twitch:

Class was a hot sweaty mess because it was sooo humid. After class I changed into my MT shorts and shirt and we headed downtown to the convention center. That place is gigantic! Holy crap. Looking back I should have taken pictures but all I was thinking about was getting inside and finding the stage. We didn’t end up eating anything. I wasn’t really hungry, just super thirsty. I was going to have Scott take a pic of me in my gear but then everybody else started showing up and then there was the busseling around of trying to get ready for the demo.

We went on and our MT instructor did some introductions and talking about the school. I did a short combo and Scott did a short combo with Thai pads. Then the two of us did some light sparring together. Neither of us were wearing shin-pads and our instructor asked us to demo kicking and blocking the kicks. :O Now I don’t wear shin-pads anymore when working the heavy bags but I do for partner drills because shin on shin hurts. Trust me. Especially with Scott because his legs are all muscle and bone, no fat for cushion at all. I lightly kicked and he lightly blocked and I still have a goose egg on my shin. Ow! Half hour later and the demo was all over.

Now I was hungry! And thirsty and had the feelings of a slight headache coming on (my headache gnome, was standing on the front porch). I needed to get home. Others stayed and looked around and participated in some of the free screenings and such but I just needed to get home and eat.

Munchie

Munchie

Normally I shower first before starting lunch but not today! I decided to just heat up some of the leftover buffalo chick pizza and while that was heating I pulled out some raisins and Kashi crackers to much on.

Summer Ale

Along with the munchies, Scott and I decided to split a Sam Adam’s Summer Ale, it was that kind of day. Neither of us wanted a whole one but half was just perfect. Nice and fizzy.

Finally!

Finally!

It was time to eat! Then it was time to shower and that felt so awesome! I was so sweaty and icky. The stage for the demo was filthy and my feet looked gross afterwards. After my shower I was seriously starting to crash. I didn’t want to do anything at all. Scott and I sat on the couch and gamed for a bit. After a while we both started getting a little munchie again.

I put out some Kashi cheddar crackers and some wasabi mustard chips that I got at Target. Plus a glass of pinot. Then we gamed some more. It was late and Scott wanted to eat and I could eat but was lazy. I didn’t want to do anything. The thought of pulling out pots and pans to make something was not appealing. Scott said we should get Mexican and at that point I was not going to argue. ;)

Mmmmm!

Mmmmm!

I had two chicken enchiladas. There’s also chips and salsa. Scott had some sort of burrito thing that also came with rice and guacamole! I had a bite of his burrito which actually tasted like fried chicken. A few bites of his rice and some chips dipped in the guacamole. I ate most of my dinner, leaving about 1/3 of an enchilada. Too many chips and salsa to count! The salsa was spot on this time around. For some reason this restaurant used to not sell their salsa. You could only get it when you ordered food and they would give you these small little containers of salsa. Finally they started selling it and we always get a big container of it when we order food.

Later I had another glass of pinot while we watched some TV. Then it was time for me to go to bed. I couldn’t keep my eyes open. :p
