September 21st, 2008: Dinner

Hey guys! Well our day was a lazy one which is what Sundays are all about, right? I did some posts and worked on the site a bit then Scott and I started a new game, MetalGear IV. It’s just okay. I wish there was a little more action and there is way too much talky talky in the animation scenes. I was getting frustrated in the beginning because the only weapon I had was this huge knife that also shocks people like a taser when you use it. However all I could do was knock enemies unconscious instead of being able to dispose of them. Not very much fun. I’ll play it out and kick the game but doubtful if I’ll play it again. During game time I was also doing laundry (I originally typed that as playing laundry. I don’t like laundry enough to want to play it as well! :p ). I used to do it all on Sundays but now I split it up between Sunday and Monday. And I realize you probably don’t care about my laundry habits but I’m sharing anyway. :D

September 21st, 2008: Morning

Hi guys! When we left off last night, I was undecided what to do about a snack. I ended up not making fries. I wasn’t super hungry and didn’t want to spoil possible fry experience.

Snackie

Snackie

I opted for more healthier things. YaY me! I sliced up a gala apple, put out some smoked almonds, and some cubes of cheddar. I split this plate with Scott. Oh and a glass of white there in the back. I ate most of the apple, three cubes of cheese, and a small handful of the almonds. Copycat was on last night, so we munched on these while watching the movie. Then I had another small glass of white. After the movie was over at 11, I called it a night and went to bed.

Rocky was not having any sleeping-in this morning. He was up before 7am. :O I squeezed an extra 1/2 hour out of him and then got up. Since I didn’t get up in the night to turn the ceiling fan down I knew right away it wasn’t going to be as cool outside. And I was right. It was still a nice morning but definitely not as cool as it has been. I could have used my bandanna on my run this morning but silly me, I didn’t take it.

September 20th, 2008: Breakfast, lunch, snack

Morning guys! I slept so well last night and could have used more sleep this morning but Rocky wanted to get up, up, up! I managed to convince him to give me till 8am. :p I wasn’t hungry right away when I got up this morning so I started off with just my coffee.

Mmmm

Mmmm

This morning was a little cool (and a bit humid) so the coffee was nice to have while lazily surfing the web. Eventually I got back up to make breakfast. I still wasn’t that hungry but I would need energy for MT, so I had to eat something.

Breakfast

Breakfast

The one thing I didn’t get to do yesterday was make granola, I ran out of time. So this morning I had one slice banana, four scoops of yogurt and 1/4 C of the bare naked chocolate granola. After waking up a bit more and writing posts it was time to get ready for MT. I was looking forward to working out and hoping I wasn’t going to be too taxed since I didn’t work out last week.

September 19th, 2008: Lunch and dinner

Hey guys! I had every intention of getting this post up last night, however by the time we were done with supper it was 9:30pm. :O I had not planned on everything taking us till that late and it caught me a little off guard. Anywho, let’s recap. :D

We had lunch around 1:30ish or 2ish I believe. It was a later meal because after I finished the breakfast post, I went through and cleaned the house. I did everything but vacuum and mop. After all that and a shower it was time to eat. Good thing too because I was hungry!

My plate

My plate

I love this pic, everything looks so yummy! While I was putting lunch together I had a small handful of raisins that I forgot to take a pic of. On my plate is the rest of the salmon cream cheese combo which was enough for half a sandwich, some carrots, cucumbers, and one slice of deli turkey. On the side I had a little bit of WF wasbi dressing for dipping.

September 19th, 2008: Breakfast

Morning guys! Happy Friday! I woke up before my alarm today. Not too much before since I went to bed later than normal, curse you second epi of HH drawing me in. Wow it was chilly this morning! I wore my thermal the entire run. My run was only okay because my HRM wasn’t working right. I don’t know if I didn’t wet it enough or what but it wasn’t registering my HR. At one point it had me at 77. After my run it said I only burned 71 calories. :irked:

Refreshing

Refreshing

I felt like I worked really hard during my run though, despite the HRM being wonky. So I was pretty thirsty when I got back. Still in my thermal, I grabbed Rocks and we were out the door. Some people were getting their lawns treated today and I always get a bit irritated about that. Typically there are little signs put up in the yards warning that the lawn has been treated and to keep pets and kids off of it for 24 hours. Which is fine and I do that. However, along with spray chemicals, they put down fertilizer or something else thats shaped like wee pellets. And these pellets are all over the place including the sidewalk. Not everyone gets the pellets and you don’t realize they are there until you are right up on them. *grumble* I have to be extra careful and try to keep Rocky off those which means we have to walk in the street.

September 18th, 2008: Dinner

I felt like such a slacker. We missed MT last night and that means we haven’t been to training for either art all week. Monday there was no power. Tuesday we got power but were busy dealing with getting everything back to normal around the house. Wednesday we were too tired and Scott’s wrist was still bothering him. And Thursday we decided to go to the grocery store. It needed done and Friday we both have other stuff to do so can’t do it then. The weekend is right out, the grocery store is crazy on the weekends. I figured if we went on Thursday late afternoonish-early evening, it wouldn’t be so packed. I was already hungry and there was no way I could go to the store with my stomach growling.

Little bit

Little bit

So I had some raisins and Kashi crackers to help tide me over. We get to the store and it is jam packed. Not only is it packed but it seemed to be full of first time shoppers who had no idea what they were doing. Stopping in the middle of the aisle, going down the aisle and then backing back up the entire aisle, leaving their cart and wondering off. So many people and so many things, it was all I could do to not flip out. I just stayed focused on my goal of getting my stuff and heading back home!

September 18th, 2008: Breakfast and Lunch

Hey guys! Wow half the day is gone already and I don’t even know where it went! :O I was in asleep last night before 10:30 and still woke up tired. Bah. We watched the first epi of Fringe. Heather, have you watched this yet? We need to discuss! :p

I dragged myself out of bed and then remembered I didn’t put my running clothes out so I had to gather those up. An extra chore I didn’t want early in the morning! It wasn’t as chilly this morning as it has been but it was cool enough. There was a slight mist which I love. I did my 1.6mile run and at the halfway point I was so close to cutting it short and heading home. Man I was beat! I didn’t let myself go home, I made it the full run.

Two sips

Two sips

I had two sips before I snapped the pic. I was thirsty! Probably because I tried to keep my heartrate in the 160s today and my calories burned was a bit higher at the end of my run. I grabbed Rocky and we were out the door. I saw that some people had fixed their siding but a lot was still down. I wonder if they even have it or if it blew away to parts unknown. I would be nervous having my house so exposed like that.

Wednesday, September 17th, 2008

I shut my alarm off during the early morning sometime. I figured that I would sleep as long as Rocky would allow and then get up for a run. I woke up at 7:15 and decided just to get up and get moving. I had a lot to do today and I needed to get out and run. I was very tempted to stay in my warm bed, it was chilly out! But I didn’t want to fall into bad habits. I pushed myself out of bed and headed out the door. It was later than usual so there were even more people out and about this morning. School was back in session today because it had power again. Lots of traffic and typical AM noise. I wore a thermal for the first 5 minutes of my run and then had to take it off. It was so cool out this morning my hands and ears were getting tingly. I did my long run and was feeling pretty good.

Up early and still no power. Crap. It was about 8am when I got up and then I got Scott up. In no time we were out the door to get ice and coffee. First up was ice because we needed it badly. We went to the same store where we found ice earlier and they were stocked up again! And they even had huge bags of ice, 22lbs! We bought six 22lb bags of ice. Then it was off to find coffee. We decided to go to Starbucks because we had giftcards to use up. We went to the ‘bucks located in the Target we knew had power. But no ‘bucks! Just the store was open. Panera was right down the road and I knew it was open, so we headed there. I picked up a coffee and asiago cheese bagel. Scott got two large coffees!

2nd morning, no power

2nd morning, no power

I had cream and sugar in my coffee and left about 1/3 of it, which I then gave to Scott. Breakfast was 1/2 of the bagel and three sausage links that I had cooked up earlier. They were part of the items that thawed out from the upstairs freezer. I put a little butter on the bagel and toasted it up via a skillet. It was sooo good! The asiago cheese bagel is my very favorite bagel. It’s light and airy with a bit of saltiness from the cheese. mmm! However I also know it’s empty calories and not really great as a nutrition source, so I limited myself to half.

I guessed it rained pretty hard during the night, I didn’t hear it as I was out cold. I half expected the power to come back on during the night and wake me up. Whenever the power goes out and comes back on, our fire alarms go off. Even if it’s just a flicker, they go off. And our big overhead light in the bedroom turns on. Fun times! I woke up early in the morning and was starving. I didn’t go for a run because even though I slept okay, the stress of no power wore me out.

First try

First try

I didn’t know how long Scott would be sleeping and I needed something quick and effortless to eat. I grabbed one of the new protein bars I picked up at Target. It’s a Cliff Z chocolate brownie bar and I had some doubts as to whether it could satisfy and fill me up.
